I disagree with this entirely.

We are clearing dead cap, cleaning up the books, bringing in guys on trade that can help us now, and in the future, as well as making moves during the draft to get younger, faster, and trying to collect picks to prevent future massive cap issues.

We are doing it correctly, and had we landed Matt Stafford or Watson (pre abuse), I believe that every person on this board would be singing a different tune.

They are trying, and not doing anything too stupid...that in itself is a breath of fresh air.

That’s part of the problem. You should only make trades if your a good team, not a bad team like us. It’s looking like the Jets and Jaguars are both going to get a very good pick from us. We’re not even playing CJ Henderson. We’re investing future picks to suck?

I understand you as a Panthers fan might buy a jersey once every two years. I’m not like you. I have PSLs and am very happy to have them for longer than you have been born.

You don't seem very happy to have them at the moment. No one is making you have PSLs, so if you're complaining this much about the money you're paying to support the Panthers, then idk what to tell you other than maybe reconsider having PSLs? Like I said it's up to you. But if you're as old as you're alluding to, then I'd be embarrassed to be acting the way that you are at the moment.

Just because I didn’t come to this place to post about the Panthers doesn’t mean I was born last night.

So when did your cackles get turned up to 100?

Just asking if you have alway had this disdain, or if something new triggered this?

You guys want to see the perfect blueprint and/or the definition of blueprint? Check out Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane’s Buffalo Bills. Made the WC in their first season up there. Been in the playoff 3 out of 4 seasons before this season. Right now, they are a legit super bowl contender. Some fans think that in a rebuilding mode, you actually have to “suck” and “lose” games. Some teams like Buffalo and KC just chose to win games during their rebuilding process.

True. That is a great example. I think you have to look at the reasons we're rebuilding. And I think when we brought in Matt Rhule, we brought in a guy that is known as a "rebuild coach". But he doesn't have the experience yet maybe to be an NFL Coach. That maybe brought more problems to the rebuild. He is learning. It's hard to teach young players and build a culture when you're learning yourself. He may or may not be the right guy for the job. But me, I am prolly gonna wait a couple more years before im 100% out on the guy. But that's just me. And for Tepper well prior to him being our owner, he was a one of the owners of the Steelers (small percentage and idk if he still owns some or had to give it up). I am also not sure if he had anything to do with any of their success. I don't now what he likes to see in personnel before he hires them. I do think he knows he isn't a football guy like a jerry jones. He may WANT to win and that may cause him to overstep his boundary at times like some thought he would with a trade for Watson.

Also, this is laughable.

This is how people feel when the GM starts trading away draft picks to win now, and then we lose 3 in a row. By Rhules 4th year most these guys are gonna be free agents, including Sam who if he actually turns it around is gonna want at least 30mil a year. If we had drafted a rookie QB people would be a little more patient

Rhule hasn't bothered me, not great, not bad...but I do wish he had brought in some NFL vet coach to help him out...I blame Tepper for that more than anyone.

Tepper has been an outright disaster, IMO...maybe he gets better...maybe not.

Fitt...I have zero issues with him so far...he hasn't made any backbreaking moves, and seems to understand what he's doing...something we haven't had in that chair in a LONG time.

Fitt get's 2 more years, same as Rhule.  If we don't show distinct improvement next offseason, they should both be put on the hot seat for 2023.

Why would you expect us to play C.J. Henderson right away? You saw what happened when they tried to half-ass it out there and put him out there before he even knew the playbook. And why not get Gilmore in the building for basically nothing to see what he has? He has ties here and may just want to stay here. No one is worried about late round picks when you can deal them for potential value. So we suck now! Rebuilding on rock takes time.

Guys guys, he has PSLs, you are not worthy to argue with him

I think it's more so that people are literally telling him to root for another team because he is unhappy with the teams performance.

He said he has invested time and money into the team. He has PSLs. He has a lot invested into this hobby. So I can see why he is upset with the subpar performance and downward trend this team is on.

I am not sure why being critical of a team automatically means you're less of a fan. You guys are weird.

    • I think he did a solid job.  Honestly I liked his post game interview the best.  He gave himself a C and said he left a lot out on the field.  That kind of attitude can carry him far.
    • This is lacking a fairly considerable amount of context. For one, Adams(age 22) started 12 of 16 games, had 38 rec, 446 yds and 3 TD's on 66 targets(18 less, with 2 less games started). The main thing missing here is that the top two WR's for Green Bay that year combined for about 2800 yds and 25 TD's. Now if you want to throw a more accurate dart at Adams, take a look at year two. This year the production was spread around considerably and Adams didn't stand out from that pack(pun not intended).  So, if XL struggles mightily this season, I would probably keep that comparison in your quiver to counter argue. I would suggest that I don't think that scenario is probably very accurate for most HOF caliber WR's taken in the first round over the past 15 or so years. Adams was the 89th pick overall, as well. A little different hill to climb than XL, although not massively.
    • to clarify I am not referring to Will Levis.  Not knowingly.   I just made that up and tried to use a reasonable guesstimate of what else was done.  That sounded in the ballpark.  At one time I did look it all up and there were several teams that had much more successful days downfield.   If that happened to be Levis' actual numbers than it's more of a lucky coincidence.  If memory serves, it wasn't just Will Levis that brought the claim into question, it was SEVERAL teams had better days.  and you are missing my entire point of the subjective nature of it all.  If PFF employee Doug watched Bryce's film and then used his same unique subjective vantage point to grade all 31 other starting QBs.  Then dumped into into a spread sheet, it would a subjective Doug take but at least it would be a level uniform subjectivity.   The grades are done by various people.  All watching and applying their own subjective view to a play.  Everyone isn't going to grade incompletions out the same.  Or completions.   So when you dump it all into a spread sheet and hit sort.....it's not actually a statement of fact as portrayed.  Which is why you sometimes get some head scratching stuff.  I'm not reframing anything.   I don't think.  I just wasn't going to look it all back up so I was talking vaguely off the general issue I have with PFF and treating any random claim they make as the truth.
