Yes.  That is in all likelihood very temporary, and then when its all finally settled, you have your superstar franchise QB for the next decade plus.

yeah and it was "temporary" for Greg Hardy too. For anyone to say "in all likelihood" Watson will even play again is ridiculous. No one has any idea if this will go away. I'm definitely not betting multiple 1st round picks on it.

Hardy ended up playing again though...

When 20+ sound a lot alike...

There's either a group of 20+ who are all liars or Watson is the liar.

Or there are a lot of gray areas and partial truths/lies all around. I find it hard to believe Watson didn't act inappropriately with at least some of them. Yet I also find it hard to believe all of these "instagram massage therapists" thought these were strictly innocent massages...

All drafted by the same damn attorney. Who can put in complaint whatever he wants. You don’t think he had an interest in crafting a compelling, cohesive narrative?

You really think he found 22 women - all presumably confirmed to have provided massage services to Watson - to tell the same story?

At very, VERY best Watson is a 1st class creep. He's most likely a serial sexual predator. Before all this came out, I was 100% on the train. Go get me Deshaun Watson. No expenses spared. Now?

Okay.  You cherry picked some bad stuff from the 13 games of a young QB on a bad team.

How dare I give you information that you lacked!  The shame!

"You can't point out that he got benched TWICE!"

So you believe that since his body is his livelihood, he was flying in Instagram women from out of state who aren't licensed massage therapists solely to take care of the body that is worth literally hundred of millions to him over the next 10 years rather than using the licensed professionals available at or through Texans' headquarters?

Come on, don't be so naive in your quest to white knight.

Oh know he was not using team professionals because of what he was planning to do. This thought process is from the women being flown out for his massage. I’m sure the rich and famous fly them out and other professionals for all sorts of goods and services. If he was expecting something different there are different professions that handle that.

So you think this man hires professionals massage therapists and does “consensual” sexual acts with them? Then texts then the next day apologizing and all 22 of them are just crying sexual assault for money. You think I am the naive one… If they normally do this type of business wouldn’t this be a career ending move by all of them?

I wanted to pull this one out in a separate post.  They are 1-5 and just lost to the worst team in the league.  YAY!

Again, they have a winning record with Tua.  Tua wasn’t the QB for all those losses this year.

did you watch the Jags/Phins game?   Is your argument Tua is why? Tua played well.

I mean if you wanted to single out that part, you could of at least attempted to disprove it.

Speaking to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said he hasn't "done any work" on other quarterbacks leading up to the trade deadline.

"I believe Sam (Darnold) will be a great quarterback for the Carolina Panthers," Rhule added.

Rhule was the local sports station here in Charlotte before the season started and stated that he was just trying this year to get the most out Sam and hopes to show the most progress in his second year. I don’t expect any change at that position unless something drastic happens, or at the end of next year.

I knew his face looked like a radar antenna.

not all the women making accusations are (or at least were not initially) represented by the same attorney; not all were even seeking legal recourse, but telling their story about sexual harassment.

tbh, I have not kept up with the Watson case since it became very clear how long this was going to take, and I was more and more disgusted by his conduct the more I read.  there are many, many, many summaries, extensively sourced, that should deeply disgust and concern anyone looking at this situation objectively.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
