We have the one of the youngest teams in the league. It is going to take some time for them to learn how to win. So yes, 5 wins could be an improvement.

We won 5 games last season with lesser talent and played one fewer game.

How could 5 wins possibly be an improvement.

The reality of the matter is the defense has improved  but the offense and special teams are going in reverse.

The offense is especially concerning because this coaching staff decided to put all of their chips in with Sam, and neither his past performance with his former team nor his play this season shows any merits for making that decision.

Using a win loss record to judge a rebuild is fools gold. We have more talent than last year. If we continue to add talent, the wins will come. Have some patience.

The most important place we need to add talent is at the QB position.

Can't believe you guys are in here comparing Sam Darnold to Dak Prescott.

How many games did Dallas win last season after Daks injury? Oh but it's the system and Oline there, yea right.

I did not make that comparison. But I defended his willingness to put it out there.

Rhule wanted to jump start the culture. So he went with established QBs. It seems to not have worked. But it was a calculated risk.

No need to get snarky.

For us or our opponents? For the last month we've been the weekly get right game for four different teams two of which only had a single win at the time. NYG had been blown out by the Rams the week before and Daniel Jones had zero td's and 3 interceptions. And we got stomped by that team missing multiple starters. The team culture can't get much lower than that.

Yep if Dolphins don’t sign Watson by deadline, look for panthers to go after Watson this off-season.

Dolphins said they want to wait until the legal process plays out. If this is true there will be more than just the Panthers and Dolphins chasing Watson assuming it plays out in his favor.

Nope.

Everyone complains about the 2 or 3 1st round picks it would take... but no one mentions the 9 or 10 draft picks we will waste over the next decade trying to find a future franchise qb in the draft.

Our team is young and the time is now.

What good does it do us to finally find a qb In the draft if we have been losing for 5 years waiti g for him and all of our young talent is either gone or up for a new contract?

Our window with our current players is about 4 years tops. If we don't find a franchise qb by then it will be too late.

Let's just put it into one quick reason: We'd never be able to build a line that he would survive behind.

What I said was...... "If we switched Darnold and Prescott like the movie "Trading places", would Darnold play better with Dallas's O-line, RBs and WRs? Absolutely! Not at Dak's level. And Dak would not play at his level with this team and the play calling, but would be better than Sam"

I didn't say Sam was the answer or would be great and he's no where close to Daks level. I was just pointing out the team around you does make a difference and right now EVERYBODY is not playing good. Dallas right now is hitting on all cylinders and we are misfiring. Kellen Moore is also calling great games as a the OC.

That's all that was said and asked. I even said we have no choice but to let it play out.

    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
    • Guessing the price is too rich here given the injury history.  2024 was brutal and production dropped off in 2025 with a few more injuries (albeit rough qb play).    Don’t really understand the narrative that Young can’t benefit from talented upgrades on offense. Especially here with respect to a tight end. Any QB will benefit from talented receivers that threaten the top of coverage and tight ends with skills to stress zone.    The age and injury history, coupled with what he’s likely asking, just probably means we can better spend that money elsewhere.
