Similar in a lot of ways to the Pats. Not much of a passing offense, a meh rushing offense (although will be better if McCaffery can go) and a decent defense. Banged up a bit but could give Mac trouble. Thinking this will not be a high scoring game.

Gilmore will be motivated but who knows how much of a real impact he would have. Maybe he'll cover Meyers? I guess?

I'd say probably 50-50 that Darnold will be able to come out of concussion protocol and play. He is using his legs a bit more this year and he hasn't really been known for that in the past.
Same with McCaffery playing.

PJ Walker is their backup and has no stats worth worrying about or sharing.

Rolled the Saints but somehow got clocked by the Giants.

Whether or not McCaffrey plays in this one makes it feel like two very different games, IMO. How you defend this offense changes a lot when he's not on the field.

Gilmore already had a pick in his first game back. I really hope he doesn't go off against us. He might be a bit rusty, but Mac better not throw those dangerous 50/50 balls toward him.

The good news is, prime Gilmore (if that's what he still is now) is at his best taking out the top receiver. The Patriots don't really have that definitive #1 guy. I'm guessing Gilmore splits between Agholor and Meyers, with the latter being his assignment on every 3rd down. TE's will be a big key in this one, if we're looking to avoid Gilmore.

The Patriots are putting points on the board now. It will take 27 - 30 points by Carolina to beat that Patriots, and I don't see that happening without Sam Darnold. The average time for a player in the concussion protocol this season is 10 days for guys who left the game for good following the hit. Backup QB PJ Walker is the equivalent of a rookie staring into a Bill Belichick defense and wondering why he got into football in the first place.

The data in your post suggests a great defense - #2 in the NFL in many categories. Their run defense is an exception, but otherwise tough to get first downs and score on. That may be misleading given their competition. They did shut down the Saints, but the Vikings and Cowboys both hung 30+ on them.

This one will be interesting to break down this week.

Pats have not won a regular season game against the Panthers since 2009 and only a total of two since 2001. The Panthers have had the Pats number for some weird reason.

Mac needs to study film on how Gilmore plays. If he does not he'll fall into an INT trap baited by Gilmore. Or simply do not throw to Gilmore's guy.

Not happy that we'll face a college offense this week. Walker and RPO with CMac could cause us some headaches, and while I feel confident we can win this game, it's not good for our D - who needs work in pass coverage and pass rush with Mayfield, Tannehill, Ryan, Allen coming up.

Quote

a.) I still think the Panther D is legit.

b.) I don't think CMC is playing...I own him in my main FFL...and I know how fragile that hammy is....been on all medical info like white on rice.

c.) Gilmore said that this game "meant a lot" to him....GOOD. I want Meyers to have his first NFL TD reception ON Gilmore!!! LFG!!!

Belichick is even better when facing rookie or backup qbs or whatever u want to call PJ aka Rhule’s little temple buddy. He will figure out a way to neutralize our pass rush by getting Mac to throw quick passes.

Did PJ Walker fug your girl or something?  You straight up seem to hate this dude....

The Sam Darnold bar vs Bill Belichick.

53% completion percentage, 173 pass yard average, 2.6 turnovers per game, 0.33 TDs per game

I guess we will see how PJ stacks up vs that.  I think he is up to the task of being in the ballpark of Sam Darnold vs Bill.

PJ may approach 30% completion rate in this game.
