Last year Teddy killed me because he couldn't lead an end of game drive. I didn't think it could get worse. I was wrong.

Replace Sam WITH ANY OTHER starting QB in the league and this is a playoff team. Literally any other starter from any other team would be an improvement.

Again the only QB this board ever wanted was the sure thing Andrew Luck, yall were scared of literally everyone else besides maybe Joe Burrow. This place didnt even want Cam and he won MVP. Man up and take a leap, Sam Darnold looks terrible.

TL was a want, same on Wilson. They were wants around here.

Rhule probably doesn't have enough time to develop himself into an NFL coach before he gets fired

That’s why I’m scared that they are going to have to go all in on a quarterback such as Watson in order to give Rhule a chance to succeed.

I’m concerned with the cost of that kind of transaction and is it in the best interest of the Panthers to pursue that.

I'm a damned fsu fan, I have no vested interest in Sam Howell being good lol

This board, man. Terrified of investing in a QB. Sometimes you gotta spend a high draft pick on a guy and build around him with the rest of your draft picks and cap room and this place is allergic to that

It ain't even your money or draft picks lol

You really think he should be the pick?

Willis is no where close to Allen at 6-1 (lol that's a lie). Willis is a smaller guy. Biiiiiig arm, but huge project. Idk if we have the staff or team for that at all.

Saw a real D at home (all mighty ole miss) and threw up 3 picks this weekend himself. Not really impressive.

Another hope it works out cause I don't see it. Right now it's all out athlete the other guys. He is a hell of one though. But as a top 20 pick no thank you.

I'd take Howell 100 out of 100 times and I'm not really big on Howell, ask the heels fans here. Don't think Howell is some savior with this team as it stands either.

Willis is bigger than Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray, has a stronger arm, and is no more inacc than Allen was who was WILDLY inaccurate til like a year ago. He's gonna be a high draft pick the same way Trey Lance, who took like 10 snaps total in college, was

Yeah... Same. Just not worth it anymore.  He's indecisive because he knows he makes bad decisions.  He's done. It doesn't matter who else plays at QB but Rhule is at risk of losing this offense I think.

Unless he finds a way to be more decisive Sam is pretty much done in this league.  He really needs to sit on the bench (of another team) for a season.  Might eventually develop into a serviceable backup if he can get his head straight.  Other than with the Panthers, Sam most likely won't be given another chance to be a starter anytime soon (if ever).

    • This is a good take it really is to the point dc needs to let the world see the real byoung b/c right now everyone in the media and tepper has had blinders on when it comes to young.  Its hard to even know where the panthers are at skill player wise with such horrible qb play.  I doubt it but legette may be a probowl wr he just cant throw the ball and catch it.  I am just so sick of every excuse in the book for byoung.  LIstened to a podcast and the guy was going over how many different options byoung had on the int and all of them were ok except for the one where he threw an int.  He said the play could be run by a hs qb and they would typically make a good decision.
    • I certainly have my complaints about Canales but I'm not ready to fire him yet for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, Tepper has made this one of the least appealing jobs in the league. Morgan and Canales are here to begin with in large part because guys higher on the wish list take other jobs. If you fire Canales you're gonna end up replacing him with another third tier candidate who wasn't being seriously considered by other teams with openings. That's just the reality of the situation right now as far as I can tell. Secondly, despite plenty of room for critique, we are 6-6 despite the worst QB play in the league. That's really damn hard to pull off in the modern NFL. Especially when your D isn't dominant. Our D is greatly improved but is still a slightly below average overall defense ranking 18th in yards per game allowed and 20th in points allowed. Going 6-6 with atrocious QB play and slightly below average defensive play is pretty damn impressive. Even more impressive when you also factor in that we're in the red on turnovers differential at -3. When you combine league worst QB play with slightly below average D and negative turnover differential honestly you'd expect to be in play for the #1 overall pick, not 6-6 and having just played a game that a win would have you leading the division. So yeah, even though I'm far from sold I advocate for patience with Canales for the time being. If you ask me if I'm bringing him back next year, I'm a yes barring a catastrophic meltdown down the stretch which admittedly is very much a possibility.
