I would not put it past them that they chose that picture for the banner because it has BOA in it. It’s a weird photo to begin with.

I actually think you are right, fwiw, having looked at some others.  I don't think there was animosity in the choice but it is weird not to use a picture that includes the biggest reason we made it that far.  Then again, at some point the Panthers started to see cams brand as competition I think.

The day Rhule was hired as coach.

Okay. A picture that does not have our MVP was used as our banner instead of one that also included him which I’m sure isn’t hard to find.

the question remains, where is our MVP?

Just a note on this. The organization likely selected from their set of internal photos that wanted to show this happened at BoA.

I don’t know why people are being willfully ignorant then.

Tbh, I'm not sure when those banners first went up etc... So I'm hesitant to say this is a deliberate slight. I agree it's strange to exclude him though.  I do think that if you want to focus on BoA as the site of this victory it's probably the best of those pictures from the link I posted... There's better pictures by other outlets floating around they could have paid to use I suspect but I don't know how that works out.

Yea, Cam was that good. How tragic lol.

And it eats him up.

As soon as another player makes a bigger impact, or we start winning, the Cam conversation will fade. It’s really that simple. They act shocked that stars have fans, and lots of them. Most of NC; atleast the urban areas, are Cam fans.

This is from the Panthers site posted after the team got it's rings.

Case closed.

I love to bitch about this organization as much as the next guy. And I love CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM. But this whole thread is nitpicky especially when it's been debunked that he was previously included and then removed.

We definitely did him dirty on more than one occasion but this isn't one of them.

As @Zod and others will probably attest, image licensing and copyright negotiations can get complicated. It's easier to go with the photos generated internally than it is to license from a third party.

that's not even taking into account the work that goes into cropping/zooming/adjusting for banner production

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
