We could try to upgrade mlb but we should not be spending first round picks unless we draft in the 20s. Linebackers have short shelf life. Shaq is gonna last a bit longer because he didn’t play much his first 3 years. Rather use that position in the 2nd or 3rd.

I still say LT in round 1 IF Cam is re-signed, which means that he played well.  While Morgan, Beason, and Luke were first rounders, we were talking about possible free agents.  I dunno, but I am a believer in that Alpha MLB--maybe just old school.

I’m good with LT in the first if we have stability in the qb room too. Honestly depending where we pick I’d be down with the center from Iowa. I’ve said center has been the biggest issue on the line for me personally. I think we’re gonna trade down unless they fall in love with a qb like Malik or someone like Malik might be available after a trade down who knows. A couple options we can go with.

luke was great but he lasted 8 seasons and was a mess the last 3 years with concussions. That position is just rough and spending a top 10 pick on a mlb again is not how I wanna build the team. That goes for runningbacks as well.

I hope if Cam is successful we pick at the bottom of the draft.

They really do---so having 7 stud CBs should not be the way to go...I do not see Nixon, Roy, or Hoskins in that second DT role yet.  We may try to re-sign Jones?

DaQuan Jones has helped solidify the line. I hope we can keep him. At 29 he has some good years left. He has been an asset.

Carter is one of the worst players on our D it usually seems, but, I think we hide him well and barring a later round rookie being a steal, I think MLB is an area we can't afford to invest deeply in, so we keep him

Really?? I just don't see it.. Carter has been fine and no major mistakes..

The last time we extended a player after one career season when we had a young capable player poised to take his spot, we ended up with the Robby Anderson extension. Let Jackson chase his payday elsewhere. We've set ourselves up well to buffer his loss. And he might recoup a 3rd round comp for good measure. There are a lot of cb needy teams. Plus we have to make room for Horn in the lineup. Hell, we don't need to even resign Gilmore but for the right price I'd be fine with it. But even he's a luxury.

Horn, Bouye and Hartsfield are a trio that would have a lot of teams envious. Gilmore and Keith Taylor Jr are fantastic depth. Then whoever wins out between Thomas Oliver and Pride would complete the roster. Obviously you'd love to keep every good starter but finding opportunities to replace players with competent players on rookie deals is how you keep a healthy cap sheet and form a complete team.

    • Been here a while but rarely post and most of them are smartazz. Mostly lurk just so I can sound informed while hanging out drinking beer in my neighbors garage. Amusingly a Huddle level of knowledge kind of makes you a subject matter expert. Thanks for that.
    • That’s similar as saying MVP Cam is the same as rookie Cam because his mechanics didn’t change. We’re talking about production.
    • In 2025 Sam Darnold had over 1k more passing yards than Bryce Young on 1 less pass attempt. Repeat that to yourself several times and let it sink in. I absolutely love it when people come on here and invoke Sam Darnold like some gotcha. Darnold is the physical prototype for what anyone needs in a franchise QB. All the physical tools. Few people thought he would put it all together on the mental side of the position. He used to make some of the worst decisions you would ever see. At times in the past he made up for that with absurd throws and athleticism. But make no mistake whatsoever no matter how you feel about our starting QB. Bryce Young is a completely opposite conundrum. He lacks virtually any and all physical tools and athleticism and his elite processing is really mediocre at best on a good day and horrific on a bad day. These are realities people should have already been addressing instead of quadrupling down in year four.
