Rhule Has No Idea What He Is Doing

Definitely joining the majority in disagreeing with you. 100% agree with the decision to go for it based on our inability to stop the run. Also, I disagree with your assessment that it played out to show it was the wrong call. It actually showed why it was the right call. Even though we didn't convert, we still got the ball back with nearly 2 minutes with the potential for a game winning TD. The upside is huge; the downside is surmountable.

Conversely if we punt, we might get lucky and force a 3 and out and get a chance to send it to overtime with a fg (although probably not), but even then there's a good chance we still lose in overtime since our defense could not stop them all day. If anything, being down 6 may have helped cause it forced us to play for the win rather than play conservative and likely lose anyway. Ultimately we couldn't even get in field goal range so it's a moot point. But weighing pros and cons of each and judging the flow of the game to that point, it was a no brainer to go for it and it's sad Rhule didn't register that right away and had to waste a timeout.

Nope should’ve punted.  Down 3 with all timeouts and more than 2 mins you punt the ball

Nope… had more posts on this board than nearly everyone here under my old username (MooseOnDaLoose).

I took a five year break from the board to pursue some goals of mine… so forgive me if I wasn’t active during the two weeks that this was discussed.

More then 2 weeks but that's okay.. Welcome back..

Owner sent a letter out to PSL asking for patience as they rebuild the team..

Plain and simple this is only year 2 with the 1st year being the Pamdimic season... So nobody in the coaching staff or FO gave the idea that this was a finished roster..

Patience is fine... Rome wasn’t built in a day… but you can’t convince a fanbase to wait five years for some sense of relevance when it’s taken the Patriots one year.

Hell… Ron had three playoff appearances and a Super Bowl appearance within five years.

Rhule would have been ahead of the game if he didn’t try to be coach and GM. He literally put himself behind the ball by dropping Cam. This essentially feels like year one when we are half way through year two. I think he’ll be given one more year but if this team doesn’t make the playoffs next year then he’s gone.

Its Rhule fault that the defense "that has been strong all year" went the bed..

Got it..

Yeah, that was a horrible defensive game plan.  Partially acknowledged in the 2nd half when Gilmore began to cover McLaurin…but only some of the time.

and his D has only been great this year vs bad offenses.  A balanced O with a talent paired with decent QB play is too much for how his D is built.

Shocking that a college coach at a power five school that lost to Liberty, UTSA, and Duke in a span of three weeks is wayyyyy in over his head… just shocking.

Matt Rhule wasn’t the best coach for the job, he was the best salesman.

In college you don’t have to be the best coach, just the best used car salesman.

He sold out at Temple when he told his players that he wasn’t leaving.

He sold out at Baylor when his players found out he was leaving through the media.

He sold out here when he let his ego get bigger than the team and got rid of Cam so he could run things “his way”.

Just think how stupid it it is that we fired someone and then begged them to come back after we realized we messed up.

Fugging idiotic organization from top to bottom.

He didn't even have to be the best salesman to land the Panthers job. He convinced Marty and Marty helped convince Tepper.

The closest thing to a finished product should be the defense that we used a whole draft on and then traded away multiple picks for this year. Yet they lost the game today. Why are you so far up this staff’s ass?

I don't think it was game plan thoe..

Jackson getting burnt by Mcclarin when he hasn't giving up that many big plays all year.. Can't really be gameplan.. Burns missing sacks and playing the read option wrong all day isn't game plan... Missing Tackles and getting pushed around isn't game plan.. Shaq not being in the right depth on passing plays isn't game plan...

Giving up 18 yards on a 3rd and 21 isn't game plan..

All that is poo is on the players not showing up and playing to the level they have most of the season..

Marty Hurney… the gift that keeps on giving.

Nothing says “I have NFL GM qualifications” like hosting a radio show that no one listens to.

They had a off day.. But again how is the defense a finished product when this is the 1st year in a long time they've been good and you basically rebuilt it 2 years ago...
