Ron had worn out his welcome here and still hasn't accomplished a thing in Washington. Great guy, but he's highly unlikely to ever be a SB winning HC. We had to move on.

Yup. Good guy, sometimes good coach, was time to make a change. Looking like the team came up on the losing end of the bet this time so we'll see what the future holds.

I love Rivera and would be very happy to see him win a Superbowl.  But he has always been good at reaching the cusp of greatness. I just don't see him as being a good enough coach to take the next step.  Then again, people said the same thing about Andy Reid and yeah.

Guy had 8.5 years with some of the most talented Panthers to ever wear the jersey and couldn't string together 2 winning seasons. If he does it in Washington then good for him, but there were as many troughs as peaks. Ultimately need better than that, even if it's a bit tough to find.

And Steve Wilks, Eric Washington, Mike Shula that were of his own choosing. A push at best, but arguably more damaging at the end of his tenure and done to himself.

The shame is the talent we wasted the last 10 years. Cam, Luke, TD et al. An above average coach would have won a minimum of 2 SB's with that roster.

We had 10 years with Ron. We for sure know what we had. It was time for a change. Rhule sucking does not change that fact.

I will agree his biggest fault was loyalty

Never forget that our SB defense went to poo right when McDermott left the building.

WTF hasn't done anything this year.  They have one win against a good team, and if you go watch that game against Tampa, you'll quickly see that it was actually the Bucs who beat Tampa, not the WTF's.

I liked Ron. But he was infuriating as a coach sometimes.
