All y’all bemoaning Rhule’s move to promote Nixon to OC just because he’s another Baylor guy should go look at his resume. 10 yrs in the NFL prior to going to Baylor that’s a hell of a lot more than Brady had. Whether that translates remains to be see, but at least he’s not some “college” guy like y’all wanna try to paint him as

With his NFL experience Nixon should have been the Panthers OC all along. When you hire college guys for the NFL,you most often get college type results, not NFL results.

At least Nixon actually called plays while at Baylor and ran a pretty good offense. It will be interesting to see how he fairs.

Sort of...

Rhule had co-offensive coordinators, Nixon and Glenn Thomas. Thomas was also the quarterbacks coach and Nixon the runningbacks coach.

Effectively speaking, they had a run game coordinator and a pass game coordinator.

I think if we had of drafted Fields and still had the same record as now we wouldn't be as hard on Rhule as we are now.

Yes Fields may not work out for the Bears but I assume he would have sat for the season if we would have drafted him.

I love Horn but having a potential franchise QB waiting in the wings for 2022 would have given this fan base hope. That is the main thing. Their is no feeling of hope right now.

100 percent agree.

Unlike Brady, this guy actually has the resume of an NFL coordinator.  Doesn't mean he is going to be great, but he certainly has a solid resume.  Don't really care if he was a college guy during Rhule's tenure at Baylor.

Its not like guys would be lining up to take over for five games.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
