I've said it a few times recently. Both seasons look eeriely similar. Promising start followed by a faceplant a few games in and no ability to adapt and recover. I think they're right. It's just college coaches doing college coaching. They think they can simply out-execute everyone else. Scheming? Nah. We do what we do. We just have to execute better. That's probably why Rhule couldn't beat good college teams either. When he ran into more talented teams in college he lost. When he runs into teams that have a few games of film to study at the NFL level, he loses more often than not. Phil Snow has floated this turd. He's the only coach on this staff who has somewhat impressed me schematically.

I think Rhule’s strength is recruiting and motivating young college guys. He’s not a football tactician.

He really should re-evaluate his strengths and stick to them. He’d be much happier.

There’s nothing short of a 5-0 finish that would want me to keep Rhule around.

I definitely see your point of view. If you could convince me that a guy could come in and make this team immediately better with the current personnel I'd be all for terminating Rhule. Thing is, that would be hard to do without a solid QB on the roster. We also need to revamp the O-line. It's gonna be hard filling both of those holes with only 1 pick during the first two days of the 2022 draft. Free agency is an option to help us, but we can't assume that Carolina is going to be a desired destination for this year's class of free agents after the 2021 season.

This would be a much more desirable job for a new coach was coming in with 2nd and 3rd round choices intact. A new coach would literally be starting out with an immediate disadvantage. He'd have to be able to maximize the players contracted talent under contract for 2022 ...AND...hit on practically every day 3 draft choices to put us in a competitive situation.

Yes. A complete shitshow on the offensive side of the ball and we have players like Terrance Marshall not even getting a jersey on Sundays. I think we can win Sunday and I think we might have a chance playing against TB at the end of the year because they will be resting people. I’ll also not be surprised if we go 0-5 to end the year.

I'd say 9 out of 10 times when you fire a coordinator mid-season the team gets worse.

...Offense has its probs but they are right...we have too much talent to be performing this shtty.   9-3 wasn't out of the realm of possibility... Brady was too young to have that position... his play calling was immature, his plays where immature...he was immature.... rhule gambled and lost.

Rhule's the one running an amatuer hour football team.   Can't let Joe Brady blind us from that primary issue.

We could lose the rest of our games and Rhule will still be coach next year. Tepper ain’t giving up on him after years. I didn’t want him in the first place but Tepper ain’t reading to admit he was dead wrong on this one. As fans get ready to watch this organization crumble tot the ground with Tepper as owner.

The OP's video pretty much states what many here already know, Matt Rhule is in over his head and another year isn't going to change that.  If he is here in 2022, is there any doubt it will be another wasted season of Panthers football?

Dave Tepper took a chance on Matt and it didn't work out.  It happens.  However, Dave doesn't strike me as someone that would hesitate to terminate any employee once he's convinced that person is a detriment to the organization.

If Tepper's facial expressions during Panthers games are any indication...

You nailed it on Snow carrying Rhule. If our offense wasn’t so bad the defense would look even better.

    • This is about getting open and YAC....and the QB we have.  You basically are just highlighting average depth when targeted vs 2 players. .  And yeah, I often say AT is a small slow reliable TE in terms of what he does for us.   That's what he is.   I think a couple of you want to make this into a Renfrow argument.   I'm a Renfrow fan.  Renfrow does not check the box of what a BY O needs either at the slot.  Renfrow just a niche roleplayer at this level.  it's easy to look up how horrific AT is with the ball in his hands and in terms of getting open.....and it's also easy to look up what a low ceiling of an offense the steady AT diet produces w/ BY.
    • The one time he's actively tried to lose was the best we've ever done.
    • I simply acknowledge BY is the QB.  And just like we did when we drafted him.....the type O you would need to setup around him for success was always pretty simple.  But we have done virtually the opposite.  XL dropping some passes isn't why we were ranked the 32nd O and 30th passing the past 2 years.  *Ricky Prohel was brought up only in regards to role function he served on the team.  Niche/specialist.   He wasn't eating up the snaps in the O.    AT should have a similar snap %. People could MAUL Ricky Prohel and put hands all over him.   We got to the Super Bowl in part because we were mauling guys (our slot CB).   You can't do that now.  AT has a MUCH easier life and still can't get open.  Or run.    If you live in 3 WR sets, with a weak armed QB, and you choose to put someone who can't get open or run in the slot.......well, your are going to have a weak pass O.  That's by design IMO.
