Keeping Rhule but replacing assistants

That was the Panthers of old.  This new batch looks like the group that could rival 01 and 10 for suck supremacy.

The only way they could go winless is if PJ is starting every game.  Even he could probably pull off 2 wins with this current team.  They are bad but not that bad.

I have no idea what will happen. I just don't understand how that would work. If Rhule went outside his comfort zone to hire Brady, WTF would working with competent and experienced people daily do to him? The guy can't handle Cam being around, it's sounds comical really. Also thinking about this crew running a coach search to match with Rhule is hilarious. Hey Rhule, this is the guy who will temp your job when we can you, have fun bossman lol.

There is no good future with Rhule here, polish that turd all day and it will still be a turd. I'm very interested to hear the crowd on Sunday. If we are not looking for his replacement on Tuesday it's going to get bleak AF.

Here’s my two cents for what it’s worth. Joe Brady was out of Rhule’s “comfort zone”. What top 5 coordinator or staff member are you going to get that fits his comfort zone. Because he if don’t buy into the system Rhule is going to crap all over him. Not only that but he’s going to be looking over his shoulder wondering if he’s hiring his replacement.

I think you just got to get somebody with NFL experience. It doesn’t have to be a former HC but somebody whose spent a considerable amount of time in the NFL, and can bring in assistants from multiple teams. This also allows them to have connections to many more players and coaches through the league.

We don’t have that because most of our staff came with Rhule.

Just keep Cam in there and we will continue to winless he is 0-12 last 12 games.  Who really cares though with this rah rah guy leading us.

Nono, its not the talent.  (or at least that's not the main issue)

This staff is so out of sorts another win would be miraculous.

Another win this season certainly will be a miracle.  I mean look at the Saints shutting out the Bucs, miracles do happen.  The Bucs will beat the brakes off us and then we turn around and steamroll the Saints. It could happen. I've seen stranger things my friend.

I think the Brady firing made sense for a few reasons.

1) After our pretty tremendous first season with the new staff, Brady was already interviewing for HC gigs, and Rhule was pretty irritated that Brady didn't seem in it for the long haul.

2) Former Brady connections not panning out - I am sure Brady vouched for Teddy and Terrece Marshal, neither have performed up to expectations - this couldn't have bought him goodwill.

3) Season going so poorly, a scapegoat was needed, points 1+2 sealed the deal in Rhule's mind.

Honestly, I wish we gave McDaniels are harder look during the coaching search. It is possible Rhule is not as bad as we think he is... but just like Rivera was too stuck in his ways with playing washed vets > promising rookies... Rhule has done the same if not worse with our o-line.

My stance has been to take away some of the powers Rhule has.  He has too much control over staff.  We need to have a check and balance because Rhule doesn't have the expereince in the NFL world to have full control.

So what does he even bring to the table? He's not a play caller on either side, not good at motivating grown men, horrible with time outs, no half time adjustments, etc. If you're gonna replace everything else just put a more likeable guy as the rah rah head coach. At least someone who can do a decent press conference and not sound like he's guilty of something/lying the whole time

    • After listening to Morgan's presser twice, I came away with some key beliefs. First of all, I don't think he's a bullshitter. What you see is what you get. When he says something, he means it.  The Teppers really have evolved as owners. Morgan has mentioned how they're easy to work with--a pleasure to work with a few times now. There seems to be a good relationship between all of them (and include Dave Canales on that). We'll see if it lasts. Yes, no one wanted to come to Carolina with the previous management, but that seems to have changed. The team signed arguably the top Edge, LB and OT on the market, two of them on pretty good deals and one on what I'll say is "not a bad one." And, credit Sunshine Dave "Flowers and Cotton Candy" Canales for helping to change the culture. Morgan mentioned getting guys--and I'm paraphrasing--that are not only great football players but great people. Don't look for us to be acquiring any James Pearce types anytime soon, just saying. We'll see if that holds true in the future. Dan Morgan really has set up the Panthers to take the BPA/BAP. He mentioned it at least a couple of times, and he doesn't seem pressured to pinpoint a particular position. He just wants quality players that will help the team. This is how it's going to be (to your joy or dismay, probably for as long as he's here), and personally I love it. Many of us know how Morgan was when he played: aggressive! That's what he's going to be when making acquisitions. He explicitly said it, and emphasized it. All avenues are open (think FA, waivers...the draft)! Personally, as long as it's controlled aggression and not reckless aggression, I love it.  On KP: "Mobility is big in this league."  He basically says if another QB is the BPA while drafting--we're going by our board, people--we're going to add them.        ...
    • Canes are so fascinating. Despite inconsistent defense and poor goalie play they keep winning.
    • I like Morgan's approach but I'll wait for a few winning seasons before giving too much praise.
