I don't know what the future holds for Newton. But this for Cam and crickets for Darnold tells me all I needed to know about any need for further games to "evaluate" Sam.

Im all for it. Draft Howell; let him redshirt his first year and learn under Cam. Newton gets one final year here and then retires passing the torch the Howell.

He's right.  Too bad this organization has Matt Rhule making decisions for it.

Only reason would be 1. He takes a cheap one year deal and 2. Understands he’s basically a lame duck until a rookie is ready and 3. A rookie comes in at some point. He isn’t the future and don’t see him winning a championship unless the entire team and coaching are above average. Need more for a rebuild.
