1) No argument here.
2) The 2022 salary cap has nearly $185M committed to it. The 2023 salary cap has barely $120M committed to it.
3) Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, CJ Henderson, Yetur Gross-Matos, Jeremy Chinn, Terrace Marshall Jr, Brady Christensen, Tommy Tremble, Chuba Hubbard, Bravvion Roy, Daviyon Nixon, Keith Taylor, Deonte Brown, Shi Smith, Phil Hoskins, and Stantley Thomas-Oliver III are all under contract through 2023. Jeremy Chinn is the best draft pick out of that group, sure, but to say there's no talent is asinine.
4) If that's the case, then we've got a QB to gamble on to keep the Huddle sadbois happy for a week or two. Weeeeee!!!

Brown had more flashes of potential but is ultimately Vernon Butler, Jaycee Horn can’t stay healthy and is unproven, Henderson sucks, YGM is serviceable but a downgrade from Obada, Chinn is excellent, TMJ is a worse LaFell, Christensen is an OK backup, Tremble is an OK backup, Hubbard is an OK backup who can’t catch or block, Roy isn’t NFL-caliber, Nixon isn’t NFL-caliber, Taylor isn’t NFL-caliber, Brown isn’t NFL-caliber, Smith is Joe Adams, Hoskins isn’t NFL-caliber, Thomas-Oliver isn’t NFL-caliber.

So that’s one good player, three or four mediocre backups and a bunch of Arena Football players from two drafts.

He won't get fired for at least another year and a half. Tepper invested seven years into this contract, and as a businessman, he either goes the Dan Snyder route and throws money around, or won't throw away that investment too quickly. It will have to play out. Rhule is here until at least year five.

How much is losing the fan base and empty seats costing him? We run the risk of being Jacksonville North.

Why wait?

Mike Florio wrote on Wednesday that it could be that Tepper already knows who Rhule’s replacement will be and will wait until after the season to can Rhule and hire his guy. It could be that Tepper has talked to someone like Bill Cowher and already has his next couple of steps lined up.

Tepper was a brilliant hedge fund manager and now runs more of a family office. The Panthers are his primary focus and there’s no reason to think he can’t figure this out.

Sure there is. He’s the most incompetent owner in the NFL.

I have to wonder if Tepper will reconsider his decision to bring Rhule back after these last two games. If he truly has “lost the locker room” what would be different to begin year 3? Did Tepper tell Rhule he had job security to get to the end of this season?

i have no problem tep telling rhule hes good...then hack his azz the first minute he has a chance to...kinda like rhule does with players...

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
