David Newton: "Fore Rhule"?????

Did the original article really say that!?!

Lol…he must be using some kind of AI article writer or speech to text with heavy grammar correct. No way he actually typed that out.

I can see how a speech to text program would interpret fire (heavy southern accent) to ‘fore’.

What a lazy bum.

What a fugging joke. I’m sure an editor came in.

I just wonder which was due to editing? The first one or the "edit". I used to do a decent amount of freelance writing. Depending on the outlet, it's not surprising when you see "your" article posted and it's not a damn thing you actually wrote.

The fanbase also seems to back Rhule, as the crowd was cheering for Rhule at the last home game and fans were even chanting that a Charlotte Hornets game this past week.

that really is quite the “typo” that spellcheck didn’t catch.  Just an alternate universe.   Maybe Dr Strange opened up a multiverse or something.

Yeah that’s not just a typo.

I always thought Newton employed a cheap overseas ghost writer or something like that to make his stuff.  He gives them notes and they fill in the blanks.

Who knows. To many strange things like this over the years.

In this case I’m guessing David took a kick back from Rhules camp, either monetarily or in “sources”. Posted it, because if you read the wording and think back to the Rhule comments about boos and “fire Rhule” stuff it’s almost identical. I’m thinking an editor from the national office came in and fixed it because of the blowback they are getting.

The article wasn’t intrinsically changed which leads me to believe it was just a quick fix. Except for the fact that was the entire premise of the article.

If there was an actual human editor involved wouldn't they have fixed "fans were even chanting that a Charlotte Hornets game"? I think the theory he uses some lazy speech to text app is possible, especially with his accent and delivery

    • Sure, but if that happens, the draft pick will look even worse for the Falcons, as instead of getting them a player that could win now, they took someone who ran off their prize FA QB after 3 years and now looks like they may be a bust. Penix was one of the more polished QB's in the draft and would have probably been a rookie starter if taken by someone with an uncertain starting QB, if he's not ready to step in and play well in year 3, then it's probably not going to work out.
