You think we’ve gotten a fair eval of Sam with the O Line we have? He’s lucky he’s not dead

5 years in the league. All his strengths and weakness are apparent now. He is what he is. I expect the Team to eat most of his remaining contract and try to dump him off to be some teams backup.

There are some fairly consistent issues that Sam has even when we were going 3-0. He tends to hang on to the ball and gets mixed up fairly easily by pre-snap disguises by the defense.

He's got an NFL arm and athletic ability but in regards to being a leader, having football smarts, and soft mentality he's lacking. Those aren't things that can be fixed overnight.

That’s fair. Someone posted earlier that McAdoo has QB coach experience. Hopefully he can help him starting now.

I mean at least he has NFL experience.  What did we really expect anyway for a coaching staff that most likely is going to crash and burn next year?  At least we know he's probably taking this job to prove his skills since he'll need another job the next year.  Motivation at least.

    • I truly think we *had* to hire a Canales. Nobody except a nobody wanted this job after the way things unfolded since Tepper took over.  I'd have offered Vrabel a blank check and said congrats, you'll stay the highest paid coach in NFL every year. But I still don't think he would've taken it with the stank we had/have on this franchise.
    • This is something I definitely relate to. I have been saying we have been indoctrinated since year one. Hypnotized. Something. Not sure how to verbalize it. We got used to seeing it. Desensitized lol.  It looks normal now, but the first year and the first couple of games the difference between him and normal NFL QB play that I had been used to watching my entire long life was stark. And as a fan of the team, seeing it was fuging disturbing.  I remember after the first game in September 2023 just being kind of in shock over what I had seen on my TV screen.  And the 3rd game vs Seattle when Dalton played, it looked right again. Major difference. No wonder Frank had ‘that look’.  I noticed that by year two it didn’t seem that way nearly so much. But then I’d watch some other teams play and it was real noticeable.   And I don’t think we really see the arc or trajectory, or the velocity all that well on a telecast with those angles compared to being in the stands. Someone else might opine on that, I have not been in the stands.  I said all along I could see a way it could work, but really didn’t want to watch that kind of ball. And we have kind of done that. Made it work enough to get a playoff game. Here we are.
