There it is…J fuggin Garapollo

If anyone thinks Trading for him is a good idea just watch that last play

that’s what would happen here. Panthers OL is certainly several notches below the Niners and Garrapolo would get eaten alive here and start playing hero ball

I hope that everyone still wanting to trade for Jimmy G watched what happened in those final possessions when the Niners we're relying on him to make a play. Now imagine him on a significantly worse overall roster. Yeah...

When they ran a fullback dive on third down at midfield, and then wouldn't go for it on 4th, that pretty much told the world everything they needed to know about Jimmy G. They needed him to make ONE PLAY, and he couldn't be trusted to do it.

Nfl is a completely changed league.

the Bucs, now Rams have showed a new formula. When you get the goods, completely sell the farm and future to go get the chance at the ring.

Baseball teams do it all the time. You gotta be able to manage the personalities tho

Yeah, and he has done this consistently.  He can’t be trusted when the chips are down

I mean Jim is a better QB than anything we have but I don’t think he would be a good fit here because our OL is Terrible and our team would not put him in position to be successful. He’d have a 3 INT game week 4 and then that would be it for him here.

    • I've tried saying this before hehe But yeah, ideally you seek the guy who can take on that fluid high shell role.  We're 2 high the majority of the time, and play a lot of 6 DB looks, not just nickel.  Which is why it's still great to have Ransom even if we land a safety who can pull into slot on different looks.  Having these safeties with the capacity to roam (not necessarily a Kam Chancellor, it's been more refined since LOB days), but he definitely started a thing.   You want that dude who can play robber, look like he's creeping up in the box and then drops back deep, the delayed blitz, or just pull into a slot role.  You need that added compliment to Moehrig.  And holy bananas this draft has precisely that in more than a few: Thieneman, McNeil-Warren, Stokes, Haulcy, Kilgore, Scott...it's a fun group. It's very much what teams are doing with their top guys like Pitre, Branch, Emman, Hamilton, etc.  And a very valuable defensive piece.  It's not some guy who just sits back deep playing pick-a-ball circa 2010 at FS.
    • For all the talk of drafting another WR it's a moot point with what we have behind center. If we want to somehow navigate a winning record with our upcoming opponents we're going to need another very strong running game. People can say what they want about Rico Dowdle now that he's gone but if you remove his high level production at a critical point last season there's no way we make the playoffs or win the division. That's just all there is to it. I like Chuba Hubbard but it remains to be seen if 2024 Chuba was a mirage because of what we invested in the OL or if he will be able to replicate that again. Reasonable questions.
