From worst record to Superbowl in 2 seasons

Panthers need a high pick in a good qb draft, period. That is how you successfully rebuild. Cam 1 overall as was Burrow. You keep scratching and clawing for a 5-7 season and get fuged.

That said Bengals HC was atrocious until year 3 simultaneously with the 1 over all franchise pick.

This isn’t the Buccs, 49ers (who still drafted a qb) or the Rams, this is a legit desperate team overall. It would take 3-4 years to build a QB plug and play team here. Even Grop was taken with a high pick to a team that didn’t need him. Allen, Mahomes you name it.

All Tep and Rhule have been doing is delaying the inevitable. DRAFT a qb, no one wants to play with this garbage team and trying to trade for cheat codes on a young team is fuging asinine. Should’ve been done years ago with cams decline -why so fuging defiant?

There should be a draft lottery like the NBA

it didnt take the bengals 2 season to get to first.... theyve been one of the worst in their division for 7 years....

When did they hire their new coach and what was their record when they got him? I mean we have been “rebuilding” for the past 6 years otherwise… It’s more like a 3 year process for their Super Bowl, tore it down in 2019 and were terrible, drafted Burrow and turned it around very quickly.

Yeah I don’t get why this is so hard for people to grasp. Draft a QB and use the rookie deal cap space to build around him. Once his contract is due he should be good enough to somewhat carry a team. If your drafted QB busts, you start over and try it again.

If you look at their roster, they didnt tear it down. They accumulated talented players through the draft year after year.. They have players on their roster from the 2017 draft still. Mike Brown has been the one building that team for the last ten years. Not Zac. Thats not how the bengals operate. They are not like other teams in the NFL.

Everything is decided and dictated by the owner of the bengals. The only thing that happened differently in the last two years, was they used their first round pick on a QB.

And the thing is competent qbs don’t get traded…they just don’t. Like ever. So few examples.

Brady CHOSE where he wanted to go after a long career, Stafford CHOSE where he was going after a long career after he told the Panthers to f themselves. Rodgers will CHOOSE where he will be going…even sex offender Watson ultimately gets to CHOOSE where he is going after telling the Panthers to f themselves.

Tep thinks he can somehow finagle some cheat code with money and picks and it’s not fuging happening with worthwhile prospects.

The only route is to draft which we should have done in 19, 20 and 21 but we are too busy winning moral victory meaningless games vs. Saints’ third stringers signing TB and trading for Darnold and despite having a top 10 pick for two of those years. Could’ve done more to get Herbert and god forbid Jones or Fields works out. God forbid we take a QB to take the reigns even when Cam did well in 17, like the Patriots and 49ers have done because they have competent foresight…you know like a guy named Lamar Jackson whose skills would’ve literally been a plug and play in that offense.

Just baffling.

You can’t have 100% roster turnover. New coaches start new eras typically. We have had Jansen forever lol. Shaq, CMC, and Moore were all here before Rhule was. Their coach went through growing pains his first year, got the top pick (Burrow) and then drafted his teammate (Chase) the following year to create one of the top QB/WR combos. He also drafted Higgins with Burrow.

I agree for the most part...Chargers nor NY were not trading out (Detroit wanted too much) and Fields ain't it. Jones is the only one to make me wonder.

but Watson is still a possibility...Miami really messed up letting Flores go.

People should stop saying this. Burrow is rare. Most qbs need a couple years to grow. And burrow got elite weapons in 2 years. Fields was on a lame duck coaching staff with a HC who didn’t know how to use him. And he played in 12 games. He flashed. I have a feeling he’s gonna make people look very stupid. Their new GM and HC have said they are gonna do what needs to be done to support him.

    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted by teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  Bryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history of the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying

    • to me these two signings were so bad for the Panthers at the time of our young team. "Sean Gilbert was signed by the Carolina Panthers on April 21, 1998, after being traded from the Washington Redskins in a deal that sent the Panthers two first-round picks (Nos. 5 and 12) to Washington. The Panthers then re-signed Gilbert to a 7-year, $46.5 million contract extension on the same date"  The other was Jason Peters being picked in the First round of the 1998 draft. "Peter played for the Panthers from 1998 to 2001, appearing in 38 games (starting 20) and recording 88 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery His NFL career was cut short by a chronic neck stinger, forcing him to retire after the 2001 season
