I'd rather have Jimmy G., but if a QB trade is going down (and it appears it will) Cousins isn't the worst option.  My question is what do we give up?  I'm more worried about that than Cousins being a Panther.

We will never win the Super Bowl with Cousins. Why would you be ok with that?

Oh yeah because Cousins is so terrible right? The fug do you people here have against the guy? He’d immediately be the 2nd best QB we’ve ever had, and he puts up pure passing stats that poo on any season Cam ever had except maybe his MVP year.

Cousins isn't bad, but he hasn't struck me as great either. The Vikings paid for "great" but the best they ever got out of him was "pretty good".

Is he better than what we have? Probably, but I'd really like to know what we're thinking of trading if we go that route.

His stats are “great”. He was like the 3rd highest rated passer this year and is always right up there with the league leaders in every important stat.

He's not a QB who will ever win the SB.

I wouldn't call Cousins a franchise quarterback.

But I also wouldn't run screaming into the night if we acquired him via reasonable trade compensation.

(hell no on a first rounder)

Cousins would be Carolina’s version of Jimmy G. If you surround him with enough talent then he can get you deep in the playoffs. The problem is……do we have THAT much talent? I would think with that contract you could probably land him with a 3rd or 4th round pick or a 2nd next year.

Cousins is 10x the QB Jimmy ever thought about being.

We are not winning a Super Bowl with Rhule no matter who we get at QB.  My point is, if Rhule is hell bent about acquiring a QB, Cousins isn't the worst option.  Who you got we trade for at QB that's not a pipe dream?

Cousins is probably the top QB in the middle tier of QB’s like Garopollo, Carr, Tannehill

Higher completion percentage type guys. Won’t win because of them. More likely to check down on a 3rd and long and raise that completion percentage than risk an incompletion throwing for a 1st down

And no, I do not want Kirk f’n Cousins

Why is it so hard for teams to realize that certain QB’s will never win a Super Bowl. If they are not in that category why spend top of the market for performance like that. It’s like giving Teddy a 60 million dollar contract, it’s wasted because he will never sniff a Super Bowl. It’s a waste of cap and a waste of draft picks. I won’t get pissed unless it happens but if it does, we deserve the results.

He's also 34, on the last year of his deal and the cap hit is like $45M. Unless they really wanna let him go and cover half his salary I don't see how it would be possible. Seems like another complete waste of time and resources to win like 3 more games

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
