Let's have some fun! Predict the dumbest move the Panthers make this offseason.

The dumbest move in my opinion, would be selling the farm for QB Deshaun Watson.

Taking this big of a a risk and giving up significant draft capital  is simply not an option no matter how talented Watson is on the field.

There are now serious doubts about Watson’s character that simply wasn’t there before. The magnitude of these allegations dictate such perceptions and many would not welcome him like they were willing to with open arms around this time last year.

Your title is asking for dumbest yet to come....at least that's how I read it.

IF that's the case, trading our 1st to SF or MN for Jimmy or Cousins.

2nd: Selling the farm for Watson.

3rd: Overpaying for a Tackle in free agency in a strong tackle draft.

4th:  Taking a QB at 6.

1 Keeping Rhule.

2 Drafting Picket or trading for Jimmy G

3 Fugging up the cap and draft for next year on a bunch of scrubs we will be talking about the need to make them cap casualties next year...again.

2023 Tepper allowing Rhule to have another year after he faceplants again this year. Basically rinse and repeat without the rinse.

Keeping Rhule is at the top of the list. Nothing dumber can be done.

Winning a couple more games before midseason to show improvement and Tepper puts it in writing that Rhule returns for a two more years before the team loses out the rest of the season. Would that be dumber?

    • Yeah, I don't think there's anything strictly forbidding it to happen but generally speaking it's frowned upon and coaches for teams still active in the playoffs aren't general announced as hires until that team is no longer active. Honestly, they really should just make it where teams can't interview and hire coaches until after the Super Bowl. Yeah, tampering is gonna happen. That's just reality. But let the coaches still active focus on the job at hand without the distraction of formal interview processes. It would also help the league in term of extending the news cycle. The NFL is hot and heavy in the media and in football fans minds throughout the playoffs. After the Super Bowl that's basically a wrap until the draft news cycle gets into full swing. If you postpone the coach hiring cycle until after the SB concludes then you're in essence creating a whole new NFL news cycle during a historically pretty dead NFL news period. Seems like a win/win for everybody IMO.
    • Would like to see what the Nets wanted for Nic Claxton, or get wild and see what the Pelicans wanted for Trey Murphy.  Don't know if we'll rock the boat too much, and probably more likely to still send people out as opposed to bringing them in...but there's finally something building here.
