He's good. Taking a step back for the time being.

Mr Scot is a pretty reliable source of info--he knows his stuff.  I think it gets to him at times.  We older posters run out of patience at times and need a break.

Makes sense b/c if Watson did come here then he would probably have to sit 6ish games...

I thought the same thing, but Florio (I think) mentioned that the commish could credit him with "time served" since he was benched last year.  We shall see.

I don’t think Bienemy is on anyone’s radar. He’s been inexplicably passed over by multiple teams with HC openings over the last few years. If any of this I’d true about Watson (which I think is highly doubtful and pure speculation), look for Brian Flores to be at the top of the list to replace Rhule.

If you look at his Wiki he's had a handful of legal issues that probably turn teams off at that level of responsibility.  Nothing major but weird hothead stuff. I think Watson working with the OC and Flores head coaching and working with Wilks on the defense would be a great situation as far as football goes

Then I was just listening, Ben and other guy on there pretty much said they think he goes to Saints they have more to offer. Something happen today and it’s not in our favor anymore unfortunately. I think having Kamara and Thomas excites Watson more.

Between the two teams I have no idea why any player would pick the Panthers over the Saints. The Panthers are legitimately an amateur organization.

They, like everyone, don’t have a clue about this. Even the Texans are refraining from leaking too much to drive up prices.

The "you pick the head coach" approach sounds alright until you get to the part where we inevitably hit a bump in the road and then that might not be so popular in the locker room. Everybody needs a scapegoat.

Supposedly he’s got some serious personal issues

Just now, NeederNodder said:

Why fire Rhule now when the biggest HC candidates have already been snagged by other teams?

Rhule won't be fired until after the season.  Tepper has already committed to Matt this season by NOT firing him to date.  It's too far in the offseason process to let him go now.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone and we have Taylor Moton inked to a recent extension. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
