He may be gone but there is no scenario where the Panthers get all 19M back to use towards the cap, as you said would happen. Again explain how this would be possible?

1. Panthers trade Darnold

2. Another team trades for Darnold

That's how it happens.

They still will be year of non  competitiveness in a harder division

So, if Watson comes here he immediately transforms us into a competitive team but Seattle with Watson would be floundering for years despite them having far more draft capital and cap space? LOL! That's logical.

If Deshaun wants to win, Seattle is the choice.

They've already got additional picks from trading Wilson.

Seattle is an organization w/proven management and coaches that have an extensive record of winning.

Or chose the Panthers.

A highly dysfunctional organization with a four year losing streak.  Panthers management were recently described as "a poo show" by an NFL executive.  The team already has a deficit of picks for 2022 and is willing to give away what little talent they possess (leaving the teams cupboards bare for years to come).

If Deshaun's primary concern is winning, he'll choose Seattle.  If Deshaun's primary concern is power and control (over a poo show) he'll choose Carolina.

I meant trade wise for us. We have players they want. Seattle doesn't. And whatever we "gut" from this team is what it is to me. We won 5 games with the same roster last year with no QB. This year, if we don't trade for Watson it would be the same. 4 years in a row with 5 wins or less is an unmitigated disaster.

Watson holds the trump card though. If both are pursuing he can pick his destination via the no trade clause. If he prefers Seattle that's where he'd end up.

It'll be like most of Cam's career. Elite QB surrounded by a bad team with a fanbase screaming to get the QB some help. The only difference is that instead of watching roster building capital get pissed away we just won't have any capital.

DW is better than pre injury Cam besides maybe 2015. And everyone here knows im a cam homer. I think it’s worth it to try. And on top of that this is a decade plus move. So we will be able to do thing after the next two years with picks. Priority #1 should be protection from the get go tho and we can do that by renegotiating his contract and getting some FA’s in here on the line.

He would literally be the best QB in a division with all the teams 2 or 3 years from rebuilding.. Saints and Tampa are older teams tight to the cap.. And Atlanta is still kicking the Ryan can down the street..

Seattle won 7 games this past year. Has arguably a worst roster, and just traded two of the players that helped the most to get those 7 wins. Sorry man. I don't see how you think this. Seattle hasn't won anything of significance since the early 2010's.

Ryan is now 55 million against the cap in 2023. Matt Ryan can buy all the braided belts he wants.

Okay but if Tepper gives Watson say in the coaching search and roster building that would probably be his preference. Tepper will probably do anything to get Watson here.

This is another card people are missing here. At this point in time Tampa has no QB. NO's starting QB is either Jameis or Taysom Hill, and Atlanta's starting QB is a 37 year old Matt Ryan with no future prospects at the QB position. We would LITERALLY have the best QB in the Division immediately.

How are they ready to win??

They are the worst team in that division.. That Division has 3 defenses better then theirs and 2 younger QB..

Oh and the Super bowl champions prime for another run..
