I think we mishandled the whole Darnold thing, as most here agree.

Too bad we did not bring him in AFTER getting an Oline.  Think it is too late to salvage him.

Maybe not.  Supposedly, we were going to rescue Darnold from the Jets and, instead, we put him behind an Oline that was arguably as bad or worse than the Jets.  Darnold started hearing voices in his head and 'happy feet' is what we got.

I'm NOT saying that his rehabilitation is assured or even likely, just that it is still possible.  A stout Oline made Jake look good.  Lightning can strike twice.  Maybe.  [The eternal triumph of hope over experience.]

Not a bad idea....I warmed up to him after laughing about picking at 6......he torn though people at the senior bowl, just he did during his team weak comp. I can see why some have him rated high and even above cross.

I think #6 is too high unless his stock has gone up. I wouldn’t mind getting him if we trade down.

Hes right around 10 on many legit boards, 6th is not a reach after the senior bowl showing. Plus he had a great combine and interviewed well too.  Stock UP for sure.

Give him more than a year, Fit

Nahh, olineman very hard to judge

1 year is excellent, what was stupid is the two year trash olineman last year

if he performs, pay him when we actually have the cash and it won’t prevent more signings

these structures/length are just as import to me and they have been excellent, I’m tired of getting stuck with trash on contracts like Paradis for example

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
