Well his completion percentage is higher than Pickett. And a lot of the stuff you are saying about Willis they said about cam. But Willis seems to be fairly accurate.

When looking at his time at Liberty the completion percentage is identical actually.

The best QBs in the class are always going to be first round picks, regardless of how good they are relative to other QB classes. There will always be QB needy teams that look to the draft to find their franchise guy, so there would have to be a serious dearth of talent at the position for there to not be a QB taken in the first round.

This. I see a qb that has a big arm but won’t stay in the pocket. Running QBs don’t last and don’t win Super Bowls.

Just because something hasn't been done doesn't mean it can't. Before cam most of the league didn't really care for a dual threat qb. Afterwards it basically became the norm. If 90% of the league have pocket qbs of course it is going to be rarer for running qbs to win Super Bowls.

Also each individual is different. I haven't heard one person say Willis isn't accurate. Where as they killed cam about it.

They hype is his cannon arm. He's fairly accurate as far as option based qbs go. And he is being compared to a right handed micheal vick by Mel kiper... I think the tools to work with are exceptional. If he was 6'3 we wouldn't even be discussing who qb1 is.

Mike Vick sucked tho.

but after looking into him...  does he actaully have a QB brain?   missing 1st reads and stuff.  might not process the play in real time.

Yea, he has all the traits a lot of the huddle overrates, a cannon and he runs.  The negatives are he misses reads a lot, he uses his arm strength to make up for the fact he never throws with anticipation, and I would also say the fact he didnt dominate lesser competition and looked pretty bad against better competition.   He is a poor mans cam right now.   His strengths are similar but not as otherworldly as Cam's and his weaknesses are the same but worse.  All that being said he could still be the best prospect.   I honestly have no idea anymore lol.  Hes definitely a scary choice though.

With the hype, he may not be there at 6.

Every year I read about players who may be gone by the time the Panthers draft. It's funny. I have heard that about at least 10 players already this year. Like someone else said, we will get a good player at 6 that will improve our team. If it is an OT or defensive player, so be it. Heck, if both top QBs are gone, we will have a stud drop into our lap.

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
