Why would you want to project a lot of interest in a guy who's expected to go in a round you don't have a pick in?

"Hey we really want to trade in to this round!"

Fitt would definitely take money from people here in poker

So it's either A) We don't have interest and therefore didn't show up en masse or B) We do have interest but we're faking like we don't so that we can trade back and snag him?

Occam's razor is telling me it's the first one.

It doesn't take discipline when the NFL consensus was that he was too small.

ok, if you say so

doesn't change the fact the point of my post was that it's not a crazy idea to think they are trying to show heavy interests in the top 3 QBs for a reason outside of taking one of the top 3 QBs.

Would I put money on that, probably not, but that doesn't mean there isn't a chance of that happening.

Or maybe they are showing up to see who wants to trade up for a QB because they aren't planning on taking Pickett, Wilson, or Corral. Need to start working those trades for draft day.

You want a QB? Call me and we'll talk.

If they do take a QB it will be tiny hands because Rhule throws a tantrum. McAdoo and Fitt are not sold with their QB needing youth gloves.

It’s almost as if they have a top 10 pick and are focusing QBs that have been mentioned as potential top 10 picks and spending less time on potential day 2 picks since they have no other picks after 6 until 138. They showed up at Ridders but not the whole suite.

You say that as if we don't have a GM who's known for trading back and acquiring more picks. There's no reason for them to not be there unless they don't see him as a worthwhile prospect.

That is, unless they are making a statement out of showing up in force to the other QB pro days, in the hopes of baiting teams to trade up and letting a top tier OL prospect fall to us at 6. Just a theory.

Team's pretty regularly check out players that they may not have a realistic shot of getting as due diligence or "just in case".

I'd say it's highly possible we're just not interested.

    • I know we're in the hopium phase of the year right now but this is all over the game film that every defense we face is going to be waiting for. If Bryce keeps doing this sooner or later we are going to be stuck arguing over why this or that receiver sucks because they can't bail out Bryce all the time. Legette would just be next in line. Bryce is a first overall pick. He's got to figure out how to get some more torque out of his arm. These yarns about his frame and this and that just seem like an excuse to justify him not wanting to lift weights. He's got to match the output of his offensive counterparts who have been putting in the work.
    • Well, if we'd sat Bryce then we'd have gone 17~0 on the way to Superb Owl win!  Of course right? Honestly, it's one of those Schrodinger's Cat situations.  There are an infinite number of possibilities that it could have been between: Worse and Better.   Dalton would have looked better.  We'd have won more games.  Reich would probably be going into year two with Scott Fitterer at GM.  Would we be a be a better team? We would have zero idea if Bryce was the dude, kind of where we are now.  Except Bryce would not have had as much adversity.  With QBs in the NFL, you don't have much time to evaluate.  You used to be able to sit guys for a year or two, but now a days, you are up and playing week 1. I think we'd be in worse shape honestly.  I like how things are going right now under D&D.  I am not sure Fitterer would have done any better in FA or the Draft or if Reich would have shown his coaching acumen any better in 2024. So instead of changing the past, we have to keep looking forward.  Learn the lessons from the past, but keep moving forward.
