When they go to talk to him about this, he can say "You were about to trade a bunch of picks for a guy with 22 lawsuits and 10 criminal complaints" 😕

While not inaccurate, I'm sure it would go over like a lead balloon.

1st offense. optics look bad but probably not in a lot of trouble with the courts.

North Carolina law permits individuals charged with low-level felonies and misdemeanors to avoid conviction through the First Offenders Deferral Program. Essentially, this program is a probation program, which requires offenders to complete certain requirements while on probation. So long as the program requirements are completed timely and to the satisfaction of the court, the charges will be dismissed and eligible for expungement.

I doubt he'd actually say that.

I would, but then I probably wouldn't be in his position.

If the Turk does come for him and this is the reason why, I can understand Smith's hesitation to do so but it would be great to lay out the seeming hypocrisy in that manner.

Except for a dui(which is technically a misdemeanor) other wise party on...

Heard the Browns introductory presser didn't exactly present great optics for them.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
