PJ Walker vs Malik Willis

Recommended Posts

I don’t get the hype either.

Willis not running the 40 is telling. No need to ruin the hype train with a slower than expected 40.

Most comps for Willis are Steve McNair.

There’s a little revisionist history going on, because McNair wasn’t a good quarterback.

I don’t want a McNair or a middle of the pack guy at 6.

Malik’s arm is legit strong, but there are waaaaay too many red flags to spend not just a day 1 pick, but I’d argue a day 2 on him.

I definitely think Willis has question marks. But saying him and PJ are the same is just ridiculous. I put more weight on people like Dane Brugler who currently have him as his 32nd player overall. Hence I found my response appropriate.

If he could run 4.3s like folks claim he'd run. I see a 4.5s guy when I watch him. Still a fast QB but no Michael Vick or Lamar Jackson.

Please, he's over hyped and you're wrong.  PJ is just as athletic as Willis just not hyped up like Willis is.  In any other draft he would be a mid-round pick at best.

Can PJ run as fast as Murray and be around a 4.4 and throw 75 air yard throws? Let me answer that, nope he can't.

Also look at who he is getting these stats against.  Teams named Troy, ULM, UNT and Campbell (who i had no idea they had a football team)

Probably only Vick and Lamar Jackson fit that description lol.

And Pj has a rocket…he just throws it to the wrong jerseys or it hits grass.

I've seen some pretty crazy comparisons with Willis, everything from Cam Newton to Lamar Jackson to now Steve McNair I guess...

Willis was nowhere near as good a college player as any of those guys, and all of them faced much better competition.

There's more projection going on here than in a twenty cinema multiplex.

    • I’ll get killed for this but he always sounded gay to me. Not necessarily not gay, but feminine.  I tried to say it in a more subtle way and still got killed for it last year. fug it I don’t care it’s an honest opinion. I didn’t let that disqualify him and have been very patient and non critical. I just wondered how the big tough guys in the locker room would respond to that.  But whatever, I think he thinks too much from the emotional side. The rah rah positive deal, what must it sound like if he gets mad? Where is the tough hard ass side? The no empathy, get the job done or get gone. I wonder about that. It mean I doubt there is a lot of fear of failure going on.    So anyway to other comments about he sucks and all that, I said I needed a better reason to change my stance on him, which has been give him time. Continuity is super important.  This thing with the running backs is eroding the goodwill.
    • He has a 54 mil buyout so he will be fine but LSU needs o move on.
    • Sure if you just blindly look at stats, you can pinpoint a couple areas that look similar. But come on man that's lazy analysis. Instead of throwing lower percentage throws, Dalton held onto the ball unconscionably long, leading to several of those sacks including that unthinkable one at the end of the first half, inflating his completion percentage. Bryce for all his flaws, does a pretty good job of escaping pressure and scrambling for 5 yards or throwing it away. Dalton's pocket presence was just so incredibly bad today, which led to both of his lost fumbles. If Bryce would just hold onto the ball and get sacked every 3rd play instead of throw it away or try a contested pass, his completion percentage would be 15 points higher than Dalton's today. And Bryce only had more yardage in 3 of 7 games? You mean when we played run heavy schemes in our wins, instead of Dalton being forced to throw all game cause we're getting blown out?  Look anyone is more than justified in arguing Bryce Young doesn't have the tools to lead this team to a super bowl. But he has been head and shoulders better this year than what Dalton showed today. That was just an abysmal perfomance.
