I think this one is more accurate

I can handle an arguement for the Falcons and maybe even Seattle being in worse positions.   Jets, Jags, and even frankly the Texans are ahead of us in rebuilding.

The Texans could actually be good if Davis Mills continues to improve.

and if our schedule was built different last year and we got the Texans and Jets later in the year....I don't think we would have won those games.

Coach+QB combo plays the biggest factor with media rankings, and also tends to align with performance.

We've got a guy that looks to be on his way out barring a successful season, the QB is statistically the worst starting NFL QB in the last 4 years & our best offensive player has barely played the last 2 seasons.

The defense may be good and full of promising guys, but the perception is definitely in the cellar.  We are here until we prove otherwise.

The basement is the basement for a reason...

Arthur Smith+Mariota/Ridder

70 yo Carrol+Lock/Geno

Lovie+Mills/Taylor

Rhule+Darnold/Corral

Campbell+Goff

--

The rest of that low tier have either new QBs, HCs, or both (Bears, Jets, etc.)

The Huddle has largely gotten what it wanted in FA and the draft.  Two excellent FA linemen, a potential franchise LT at pick 6, a rookie QB with a chance to start, and it looks like Sam will probably be the starter, at least day one...so Rhule will sink or swim with Sam...at least at first.

For those hoping we crash and burn with Sam to fire Rhule and to get a high draft pick for a new QB, ESPN thinks we're well on our way.

WIN WIN!

That's why you turn the page as a franchise and tell the world and the player himself, training staff, coaching staff, marketing, team shop the nation, that Matt Corral is your starting QB1. You don't lose anything, you will gain fans.

Give Sam the headphones and clipboard.

I don't think there's any possible way we're the worst team in the league barring a full blown implosion in the locker room. Even then, we have more talent than a few teams.

But yeah, until proven otherwise (good QB play or a healthy CMC) we're a 5 win team...again.

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
