Sad, but Corral just became a millionaire, do they really need a gofundme right now trying to get donations from people scraping by with all this inflation?

Then don’t donate. Problem solved. Also, mind your own GD business. You sound like a real cry baby.

I wonder if the people who are in here questioning why Matt Corral doesn't just pay for his cousin's kids took the time to read that Players Tribune piece by Tarik Cohen posted a few weeks ago. The money doesn't spread nearly as far as people want to believe.

I’ve known some NFL guys.   Some just bounce around for a couple years (that’s most guys)….and largely just grinding out very normal jobs like everyone else.  Getting in the league alone doesn’t set you up financially let alone your vast extended family.

known some that didn’t even like people knowing they played a couple years.

Yep. Don’t know what’s going on with the family, don’t know the extent of the relationship to Matt and frankly it’s incredible ignorant to just expect someone who you don’t know and happens to be a pro athlete is on the hook for funeral expenses. They might just need some money to help with bills and if you are not involved with the family you don’t need to worry about it. Donate or butt out. Good Lord.

Everyone handles new found wealth differently. It’s fair to pass judgement when you hear about rich athletes and celebrities being god awful tippers and getting a DUI because they didn’t pay for an Uber - it’s not ok to whine about a pro athlete deciding to or not to pay for a family members funeral or medical expenses.

Maybe it's for funeral expenses. Life insurance (if she had it) might not have paid yet.

Here's the thing about any GoFundMe or whatever... if you don't like it and don't want to donate, just don't.

I mean, there are people who donate money to fuging politicians.

GoFundMe is the backbone of American medical expenses

Families and social circles have a tendency to get more "extended" than usual when somebody gets drafted or signed to an NFL team.

Corral likely isn't a millionaire just yet.

They don't pay him his entire salary just for signing his rookie contract.

It’s not his responsibility to support his entire family/

Why is this even a thought?

I don't see why anyone would see the family asking for $10k for 3 children not old enough to work to get by for like 6 months maybe? That's like food and clothes and school supplies. Sounds like she was a single mom working at a Chevy dealership, I doubt they would ask for such a modest amount if they had an easy immediate answer within the family. Who knows how they got Matt through school and camps and pre draft training etc..People were dogging him for having animosity when he was at a rich kid high school for a year or 2, maybe theres more to it behind the scenes that he felt guilty about

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
