Not a horrible look. I was hoping for more of a matte finish though.

They don't look glossy though. More like an eggshell or satin finish which I think looks great. I think a full matte would have looked like trash.

I think the Panthers should drop either white or silver from the color scheme all together. I think you can make a compelling case for both and have the three colors be black, blue, and light grey. You can make some really nice uniforms in all three primary colors.

Respectfully I disagree.. Silver with the glitter, black and blue OG panthers color way is one of the greatest color ways in ALL SPORTS.

Love the simplified two-toned approach.  Only makes sense to move towards that on the jerseys, the silver & white is too offsetting from the new pretty dope helmet.  Would love for the jersey to just have a single tone for the numbers and shoulder stipe.  It would work with this super well and that's likely how we'll modernize the jersey (hopefully soon)

Exactly.

When I and many people ask for new jerseys we don't necessarily want an overhaul, just a nice tweak that updates the jerseys to make them look cleaner/more coherent and up to date.

The funny thing is I can't find a fan concept online that's the simple, refined look.  This is all they need to do (quick psd chop up):

the problem with “modernizing” your look is that you have to keep doing it to uphold the premise

The league has a few examples of this

the Jaguars, the browns, the lions, all come to mind as the chief offenders.

Abysmal organizations who are constantly phasing out now-dated design schemes to keep up with trends and feign enthusiasm

i like the new helmet as a new alternate with the rule change but it shouldn’t be a precursor to some big overhaul.

panthers have a good look using enduring design traits. Just keep it until it becomes timeless.

Modernizing doesn't have to be a continuous process every few years, although you're right that orgs with weird owners and poor marketing depts. make the mistake of constantly revamping.   Modernizing (for lack of better term) can also be just a single point in time where you take a chance at very subtle, refined updates.  A uniform revision, tweaks.  Just like we did once.

Your examples had rather ambitious splashes changing something like their pattern, striping, helmet schemes, etc.  Example being the gold/black Jaguars helmet thing.  I mean, they've updated upwards 5-6 times and we have the same lifespan as a team.  All we've done (which I respect) is revise the logo with smoother fillet edging and simplified it and swapped colors on the jerseys with some super minor changes.  That's really it since 94 released the unis.

I see the Bills, Bengals, Falcons, & Giants as examples of what we've done and how we could tweak things.

The piss poor design concepts everywhere online also give the whole process a bad aura (not saying mine is anything special) but I think simplifying and refining is totally fine.  4 colors is just excessive, and keeping something longer doesn't always equate to timelessness.  Timelessness needs a certain balance of minimal and proper design to work.  4 colors and one being sparkly silver is simply not timeless and it would be appropriate to finally get a nice refinement going.  We always have these to wear or come back to.

    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
    • Guessing the price is too rich here given the injury history.  2024 was brutal and production dropped off in 2025 with a few more injuries (albeit rough qb play).    Don’t really understand the narrative that Young can’t benefit from talented upgrades on offense. Especially here with respect to a tight end. Any QB will benefit from talented receivers that threaten the top of coverage and tight ends with skills to stress zone.    The age and injury history, coupled with what he’s likely asking, just probably means we can better spend that money elsewhere.
