Think Snow will defend his run D after today?

It was just pretty eye opening watching how badly this D struggled to stop the run when we sacrificed so much on pass rush ability to get better at stopping the run. Today we struggled to do both. That's not good. Looks to me like a D that is going to get absolutely eaten up by teams with decent QBs. They got bailed out today facing a backup QB.

It's what I said before the season. Our best case scenario is bend but don't break. It's looking like we might not even bend this season.

Rhule would throw one of his own family members under the bus to save his own neck. Snow is no exception.

I think he realizes his goose is cooked. Word was that he had his agent sniffing around the top college jobs last year in anticipation of the firing that never came. At this point, I think maintaining his relationship with Snow for his next job would take priority over trying to save his already badly burned hide here.

We hired a college football coach. Not sure why we expected anything but this kind of poo

Remember, even Saban sucked as a NFL hed coach, but Rhule was supposed to break the mold?  Jimmy Johnson was the last college HC (without any prior NFL coaching gigs) to be successful.

There are many college coaches who could make the jump, Rhule was not one of them, they choose not to for obvious reason. Why go deal with adults when you can coach green ears for more money.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
