From the tweet I shared last week...

So the 13th worst head coach in NFL history defeated the 7th worst coach in NFL history (going into this game).  A win is a win I suppose, but it's also all about perspective.

We are bad, but the Aints are worse.  I'd like to think we laid some foundational blocks of momentum that will carry into future games, but I don't think we did.  We just beat a team that happens to somehow be worse than us.

Emo frank 😆 🤣

Winning a game sure makes it awkward around here

The only thing awkward around here is you throwing around the word emo like you're too cool. Do you already have your new username picked out for next year after we finish with a losing record again?

He definitely was.  And he played for the basketball team the same time Pep played both football and basketball...  Good times.  I remember us recruiting him out of VA as a two-sport guy, but I'd didn't keep uo heavy with that stuff then, I just knew the hype was he was one of the greatest athletes out of HS ever...  I still wish an NFL team would've given him a shot as a QB.  He ended up being a solid receiver despite the position change, but I think the achilles injury really derailed his pro career.  But man, he was fun to watch in college...  I used to trade for him in Madden Franchise and try to turn him into a star for the Panthers.😂

Curry was the reason no one talked about vick when he was coming out of HS.

I mean, draft position talk is a bit early after week 3.

Is it? Is this coaching staff going to miraculously improve? We have our clown HC pounding his chest and really feeling himself after one win where our passing game looked like it was straight out of the leather helmet era.

We're 1-2 against three bad teams with an utterly floundering offense. That's reality.

That Achilles injury completely changed him as an athlete. Won the McD AA slam dunk contest in HS and I can't recall him ever dunking a ball in college.

I think he ended up having three Achilles ruptured before he finally hung up the cleats.

I mean we have 14 more games in the season. There might be an 0fer team or four 1-3 win teams. We don't have any idea how we will be positioned at this point. It's quite literally just too early to be worrying about draft position.

I get your point, I really do, but teams in the nfl dont miraculously change their MO 4 games into the season.  What they have in place is what they are running with and after 3 games it aint pretty.   We need to score points to win games and what we are doing fundamentally isnt that.  We can debate about why that is but the larger point is our offense is complete poo.

When you're almost certainly not going to make the playoffs and look to have no future for the coaching staff, QB position, and very possibly GM I don't think it's ever too early to think about draft position. It's all we have to root for.

    • I see Bryce's development this way: He improved when his supporting cast improved.  TMac and Dowdle saved his arse last year, but in fairness, most good QBs have good WRs and good RBs--and good OLs.   The 2025 OL underperformed, actually. They were above average, but they should have been elite if you consider the salary cap.   As soon as we signed Lewis and Hunt, I started thinking, "That's not sustainable.  With Ickey about to get paid a LT salary, Moton and Hunt grabbling $50m per season combined, and Lewis around $17m--that would be nearly $100m and the Center just walked.  Yikes.  What does that mean?  Rico walks, Mays walks, and we do not have a top 5 WR on a second contract.  We do not have an elite TE, and only 1 is on a modest second contract. And now Bryce will demand $50m for his incremental rise to mediocrity?   So when we sign Bryce, we will get weaker at other positions.  Hunt, Moton, maybe Ickey and Lewis, will all be casualties--that is the right move regardless (not sure yet about Ickey, but he was not elite) Bryce is one lucky, entitled camper.  No competition since being drafted, and he lost his job for a while to the aging clipboard holder.  Now we are bringing in UDFAs and busts to compete with him.
    • Probably not.  If we are taking a QB, it would be a prospect to replace Bryce and not a flyer type player.  I can't say for sure, but I doubt he would have cracked the top 3-4 QBs even if he were to play this coming season.
    • The Giants, Cardinals  and Dolphins should have moved on, but they didn't and ended up cutting their QB early into a monster second contract and had to eat a TON of dead cap money.
