Where the hell is Foreman?

With Pat blocking weakly in the middle, and the o-line still learning how to run block together, RBs other than CMC are going to have a lot of trouble. CMC is making the o-lines run blocking look better than it is in reality. Double team blocks are getting spilt, Pat has no power, the lanes are not coming open, or slamming shut quickly. Then you have CMC doing something terrific that not many RBs in the NFL can do. A lesser back is going to get stuffed for loss. Our coaches want to keep their jobs for another season. Just like the last coaching staff, they're going to ride CMC. Now we're trying to pass more, so CMC is not taking as much of a beating, but still he's fantastic when the line fails and when does well. CMC has this fast decision making combined with quick twitch muscles that allows him to turn nothing into the max we could have possibly gotten out of it. I wouldn't send in the other RB either if my job were on the line.

Y'all will hate on anything. CMC has been good between the tackles this year. I would also like to See Foreman cracking some heads, but he does not have the explosive upside Christian gives them.

3 games in and our RB who hasn’t been healthy since 2019 is hurt again.  And Carolina has used the #2 RB less than anyone else in the NFL.

CMC isn’t built to be pounded like McAdoo is doing.  And McAdoo is not using him in the one aspect that legitimately separates him from other RBs.

Yeah soft tissue injuries for taking snaps Foreman was picked up for. It's not like we're running some crazy up tempo offense where there's not time to sub guys out. If anything it's one of the more slow and static offenses I've seen us ever run

He filled in for Derrick Henry and did very well. He is no slouch.

At the same time, he is not starting material.

It kills me that Huddlers seem to want to make other teams' rejects and make them legit starters.

I'm not saying he isn't a good backup to have, but he's largely a one-cut power back with no speed.

Now I'm no Chuba fan because of his oven mitts, but he is arguably more dynamic of a runner, if nothing else for his speed. I tried to tell people that he was our main backup behind CMC, but people didn't want to listen. If Chuba could ever learn to catch, he's more than JAG.

I don't think anyone is trying to make Foreman the starter, but if Fhule continues to pound on CMC, then Chuba or Foreman will be forced to be the starter. All I am asking for is some intelligence in how CMC is used, what in the holy hell did we sign Foreman for if we don't use him for short yardage, power runs that could relieve CMC?

He has shown he is capable of providing relief, yet we have not seen him much. Add to that CMC is already nursing injuries and here we are. This staff seems clueless as to how to maximize the talents of what we have and seem hellbent on running the team into the ground yet again.

Foreman isn't all that good and never has been. Had a decent stretch last year when Tennessee was firing on all cylinders but he's hardly the only player in the NFL to randomly look good for a brief period. Some folks' expectations are/were wayyyy too high when he signed here.

I agree with that. It would seem that it would be obvious to run the power back on short yardage runs, but Rhule has never done it, which is kinda weird.

    • And I’m fine with that.   But, with an impatient owner….that carries high odds of just him employing a new HC in the not distant future.  The “we will see if the scheme that doesn’t fit our #1 overall pick QB works or not” approach seems like a rocky plan for all.  If I was Canales I would give it shot but demanded I need to be able to sign a legit backup QB in case what I was given just doesn’t work and can transition at the end of the year
    • That's really unlikely to happen.  The reality is, they are building for what Canales wants to do.  That's what all coaches do.  And if Bryce can't do that, he's another peg that has to be replaced.
    • There is nothing unpopular at all about your opinion. How everything played out on the field backs it up. Bryce starts the season with much fanfare, gives the atl game away, and showed anyone who watched that his arm talent was shockingly bad. bad look, so after a few weeks, the team cooks up a fake injury that nobody saw, presumably to decide what direction to go next. Enter Dalton for one game while Bryce is seen walking comfortably on the sideline, smiling and yucking it up like he’s a 5 year vet.  Dalton performs admirably given the circumstances (please no Dalton ve Bryce retort). The contrast between the two was so strong that it’s still debated today. If Dalton’s performance was similar to what Bryce had done up to that point, I truly believe they would have sat Bryce longer, but it wasn’t.  Dalton relied on vet savvy and a better arm. It’s debatable how many games that gets us. Meaningless to fans, but not to players with serious financial incentives on the line.  What it really was, was a ‘young man (see what I did?)’ playing a grown man’s game, who lacked basic fundamentals and essential physical talent, behind a line that was VERY ill suited for the scheme forced on them, WRs who looked completely confused and unmotivated, with a back stabbing coaching staff in give up mode, GM who I wouldn’t trust to organize my cooking utensil drawer and an owner who meets with coaches every week and tells them which plays he likes and which ones he doesn’t.  Bryce doesn’t get a mulligan, but I’m willing to give him a ‘my bad’ from the team. Last season stunk worse than Bigfoot’s di**. It literally can’t get ANY worse than the unwatchable sh** show that was last year.  I have to see a monumental change in his physical ability and overall confidence. I have to see that he found a laser arm, somewhere, in the offseason, or everything else is irrelevant.
