If Wilks doesn't win the job and our answer to that is Dan Quinn, I may choose to visit Mint St and poo my pants all through the tour.

He's a great DC, but a poo head coach with a penchant for not being able to close out games.  We don't need more of the same.

Wilks isn't even a good DC, but we know he's a crap HC.

Name a HC that would be good with a rookie Josh Rosen (that didn’t want him)?

because that’s the only thing on Wilks’ HC resume.  He wanted to go get Josh Allen.  Ownership picked Rosen.

and I don’t even look at college.   He isn’t a college coach.  It’s like the reverse of Rhule.

Another NFL executive likened the power and influence of Drummond within the Panthers to that of beleaguered Texans executive Jack Easterby, who also doesn’t have a personnel or football operations background per se but holds considerable sway with ownership and is consulted on and included in all key matters. “It’s the same dynamic as Easterby; it just doesn’t get as much attention,” that executive said. Perhaps Wilks can string together some wins and make enough of an imprint to keep the job. “He is in a position to be in consideration for the position,” Tepper said of Wilks on Monday, saying he could get the position if he does “an incredible job.”

Rivera took the play-calling duties off him.

No thank you.

Multiple general managers suggested to me that, should Wilks not win the job, Carolina General Manager Scott Fitterer would strongly endorse Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. Fitterer and Quinn worked together at the height of the Seahawks’ reign and share a strong relationship, and Quinn, the former head coach in Atlanta, has helped create a dominant unit in Dallas. However, those same GMs believe Quinn will have better options than Carolina.

I was talking about his year as HC in AZ.  It’s simply isn’t enough to form a real opinion given he was saddled with a rookie QB he didn’t want.   And one that we know was horrific.

and as Mr Scott said, you got the wrong year when talking DC.   Wilks didn’t lose DC duties.   His year as DC is what lead to a HC job.

We finished as the #7 D in 2017 with Wilks.  3rd in sacks.

    • You know, there's something about this whole JAG thing that really just drives home the idea that to some folks, these players aren't real people, just names and stats.  Of course, it goes beyond sports. We're a sad, jaded species, us humans.
    • I hope we get no featured games, or only one if that's still a thing Don't like having to subscribe to a service just to see the panthers play a single game, i'm looking at you peacock Football is made for sunday afternoons Word
    • Yeah, it's just dumb. Everything is year to year. I never understood how anyone could stay engaged as a Kentucky fan or duke fan as duke became a one and done factory like Calipari made Kentucky. The thing I liked at about UNC is that we primarily focused on recruits likely to play multiple years. We'd have pur occasional one and done but most of our pros still played multiple years. And the days of the Stackhouses, Wallace, Jamison, Carter, etc. playing multiple years is just over. And now you have your role players entering the portal every year to test the waters elsewhere. I don't blame them for looking out for themselves but just personally speaking I'll run out of interest quickly trying to get to know a whole new roster year over year.
