ADAM SCHEFTER: Panthers listening to Christian McCaffrey trade offers

Wide receiver D.J. Moore, pass rusher Brian Burns and defensive tackle Derrick Brown are among the other players teams are calling about, but it's highly unlikely any of those players would be traded. They are considered building blocks for the future, the kind of players who would draw a new coach. Same with the rebuilt and effective offensive line.

In fact, rival GMs have praised the overall talent on Carolina, minus the issues at quarterback that now have them starting P.J. Walker on Sunday versus the Los Angeles Rams.

This doesn't surprise me. The vultures are circling this team waiting to see what they might pick off.

If Fitterer and Tepper doesn't panic right now we may survive this with some core players left.

But it also wouldn't surprise me if some of the players mentioned may been given the option to be traded if they wish to avoid another rebuild.  Those other teams are certainly checking in to see if that may be the case.

It’s obvious the team is listening but not selling. Sounds like we won’t sell unless it makes the team better.

As it should be.  If we aren't in a position to get quality players to replace him we might as well hold onto him.  Any SB contending team is going to be in the 20s or 30s which basically 2nd tier 1st rounders or overrated 2nd rounder.   Taking a 2nd is pushing the 3rd round which mean the player may or may not start right away.

Burns, CMC or any other player we need to get optimum trade value.

Fitterer has to stand tall and get great deals for us, not give him away that's for sure.

Houston, Detroit and Philly each have 2 1st rounders.  I'd start with them.

    • I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.
    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
