I would say there is better options this year than last year. Maybe the last few years. All QBs come with questions. Luck was a sure fire HOF QB coming out of college and even his years were rocky.

i hope there's better options, but the top 2 i keep seeing mentioned, Young and Stroud... i mean Young is short. Looks like he's got exactly what you need between the ears for someone of his stature and the 'not as lazy as you would think' comparisons to wilson in his immediate problem solving skills....but still he's short and he's from alabama and which stud QBs have come from bama?

meanwhile stroud has the size, he's got the arm, he's got the touch, and he's got everything going on between the ears you would want. he's got poise...but just like bama QBs, OSU QBS tend to be not as good as they were in college and rarely live up to the hype.

so are there other stud options? i see hooker mentioned and he's kind of a local "kid" but he's not hyped at all despite rock star stats i see. i mean last year 31 TD passes and only 3 INTs? why is this kid not hyped?

Because the Vols were 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Plus, he's older than most of the other QBs.

Hype is what gets players drafted higher than they should be. Don't give a flying f*ck about hype.  Do give a f*ck if they can play at the nfl level.

Once it turns into the offseason, Levis is going to skyrocket in shorts, so watch for that.

In a nutshell, the things stopping the other talent from being considered tops--

McCall: Not much I can see...so he's interesting.  Does sail his throws a lot.

Hooker: Age, Footwork, Mechanics on the run

Penix: Jitters under pressure

Ward: Footwork, Decision Making

Hall: Age, Injuries, Arm Strength, Size

McKee: Agility (Apparently runs a 4.68 but plays like he's 5.05)

I think Stroud and Levis will be the ones that rise to the top.

Just look at Stroud and his game, ignore the college he's at, he's what you want in the NFL:

6'3 218, natural leader, arm strength, disciplined footwork allowing for consistent mechanics, great pocket presence, quick with progressions, all-pro ball placement, high end accuracy, can move if he needs to.

Now, take the school/system into consideration, it was clear what Haskins and Fields needed to work on.  Fields has gradual, slow-mo progressions and a really poor feel for his blind side.  And his intermediate balls don't lead enough. Haskins had a whole dinner's worth of weaknesses.

School be damned, Stroud is legit.

Size be damned, Young is legit.

Has all of the above, but hasn't coalesced in games yet...Levis.

I'd peg that in the order of fixable (1) Stroud (2) Levis (3) Young

I was really impressed with Hooker. I could see him having a Burrow rise through the ranks and be the number 1 projected pick.

I’ve noticed that also, it’s strange, go look at nearly all mock drafts and they have us picking like 5th or 6th lol. Like bro, what games do we win to drop to the 5th or 6th picks?!

Broncos, Saints or Lions probably. But I doubt we are beating the Saints at home. Broncos have a good defense so our offense will play poorly and the defense will get tired and surrender points. Lions have a good offense and a terrible defense. But the Cardinals have a bad defense and our offense could do nothing.
But we may be looking at 4-13 if we win those 3 games. Could drop us out of the top 5 possibly.

at least in 2010 we had a couple really good options for QB...i mean early on we still had luck as an option (or so we thought at this point in the season) and we were starting to hear about this kid named cam newton.

i think we can get a decent head coach, but is there a rock star QB coming out next year?

This is eerily similar to Cam Newton with the rise of Hendon Hooker, the QB from TN. Cam Newton took the NCAAF by storm and was unstoppable, he beat great teams too. Let's see if TN can make it to the finals. I think if they win the Championship, you have to strongly consider Hooker as a candidate, the kid is from Greensboro, NC too.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
