Can we just take a second to give this man some flowers, taking over under the circumstances can’t be easy, but this team has competed and given us something to watch and enjoy again!  I, for one, am grateful to just watch exciting football again!  Thank you for being steady and leading these men, Coach Wilks!

I agree.

I feel like he is doing it right. They are men and  he treats them like men. At the same time took no bull from Anderson. Woke up to find himself traded probably. That is a strong message on a couple of levels. At the same time, he stands in the firing line for the players who screwed up.

I believe he understands how to lead and motivate on a high level.
And I bet he gets interviews out of this and not just to satisfy the Rooney rule or because of his lawsuit.

I have seen enough to know what I am looking at, and don’t think Wilkes is going to change over the next few weeks into, fundamentally, something else. This is what he is, and we are seeing it right now.

Fox was the same way, Riverboat was the same way

The NFL isnt old school anymore, we need some fresh new blood with fresh new ideas.

Maybe you are right, but I think the NFL is great when it is old school. They want flag football now

Old school is a thing of the past.  The games from NFL films are totally different then whats being played today.  We had Miami on one of the tvs yesterday and the second half that McDaniel layed out was a thing of beauty.  Absolute brillance.  I dont see a coach like wilks changing midgame and adapting like that

Old school, new school, look the man can coach. We have gone from laughable, to broadcasters in other games calling is a very "tough out" in span of 3 weeks.

Definitely unfortunate that our field goal kicker missed 2 game winning kicks, but the plays were there to be made. I think one thing you can note is that the coach's on the other side of the field aren't noticably out coaching us any more. It's nice to behold.

If we keeps us competitive with the hand he was dealt, I wouldn't mind seeing him with his own QB and coordinator choice in the future.

If Wilks can build off of yesterday's close loss, and turn it into close wins, and then decisive wins down the stretch, then there's no way he doesn't get the HC nod. I hope it happens. He's a good dude and the guys play hard for him. I like his demeanor better than Rivera's and Fox's. This was his third game, and only his second with a full week to prepare, so he's 1-1 as far as I'm concerned. Would be great to beat the Bengals after they just blew out the Falcons. Hey, it could happen!

    • I mean I think the best case scenario has to hit for the Panthers and everyone else in the NFCS has to hit their worst case scenario.  Personally, I think this is the year that NO finally collapses and I think they finish 4th in the division regardless.  ATL is overrated but still likely a 6-9 win team. TB plays tough football, their defense will be there but their success depends on the offense, they too are a 6-9 win team.  The Panthers are probably 4-6 wins at best. If they find some sort of momentum during the season and get 7-8 wins, and TB and ATL struggle then maybe but I find it very unlikely.
    • We screwed up a couple years ago taking Bryce in the first place.  Nobody held a gun to our head to jump from #9 to #1.  Most people who keep up with draft news knew this 2024 QB class was loaded and we should have waited, which I advocated. It was a dumb move and I knew it.  Now we have to roll with Bryce another year.  That's fine, because this 2025 class isn't that great.  I like Ewers, but not super high on him.  If Bryce shows improvement, which I think he will, that should get him at least one more season before we have to decide on if he's the permanent answer or not.  I've said before, the 2026 draft is the next window for a franchise QB if Bryce isn't the answer. Bryce gets this year and next at a minimum.
