Not a single franchise changing QB in this year's draft.  Keep trying to win, best player available wherever you pick, as long as that player isn't a QB until way late in the draft.

Great strategy, BPA unless its a QB,P, or K. Since you value the 3 positions alike.

I just hope you let the front office know when a franchise changing QB is available and we are allowed to draft him.

I guess you knew Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers, etc where franchise changing guys ahead of time.

Once we're out of it, and in this division that could be week 18, play the young guys primarily and see what we have on our roster. We need to have some real game film on what we have for assets. Now a move like this may or may not result in losing, but I care less about a top 10 pick if we have 2 or 3 guys, like maybe Cade Mays, who can actually contribute and just need to see the field to prove it.

I feel like we’ve already got a ton of young guys getting a good number of snaps. We’re even using Cade Mays at FB to get him on the field haha. So in the case of Cade Mays for example, who would you bench in the finale to squeeze him into the line-up? Like just move a healthy Corbett or Bozeman to the bench and start Mays? I know teams will do that to preserve starters for the playoff if they’ve already secured their playoff seeding going into the season finale, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a losing team deliberately bench a quality starter in favor of a rookie just to get them some snaps.

Maybe it happens, and I could entertain the idea that a coach would do something like that. I feel like it’s weird particularly for o-line though cause their job is to protect the quarterback. So knowingly starting a worse o-line just for the sake of getting a young guy reps and consequently putting your QB at heightened risk of getting destroyed seems almost unethical lol.

We are talking hypothetical situations. These is no reason to speculate. My awnser is what it is in a hypothetical situation.

No clue what you’re saying….my question is specifically about you calling the team “stupid” if they win enough to drop out of the top 10. That implies that they have control over that outcome and could do something to ensure that they tank their way into that Top 10 pick. And that’s what I’m asking you about - what you would do to ensure the tank.

Otherwise it’s like…”ugh the Panthers are such idiots for losing out on the chance at a top 10 pick”

”Oh what would you have done differently to get the outcome you wanted?”

”Beats me, I dunno…but they’re still so stupid for not doing it”

Is that actually what’s going on here?

What if, now hear me out. What if Corral comes in, after a year of learning, and impresses? Minshew, then Corral, and Richardson to the Practice Squad? Or do we keep 3 QBs? God I love this game.

I was high on Corral before the draft, but the road to him becoming even a competent QB in the NFL is long and twisted. The Coach who drafted him has been fired, also likely that the OC who seemed to love him will as well, he hardly played/practiced leading up to the draft due to an ankle injury in his bowl game, then he got next to no reps in the preseason because of history's saddest QB competition, then got injured in the preseason preventing him from taking valuable reps at practice he would need to get up to NFL game speed throughout his rookie year.

We are coming up on a calendar year since Corral played any relevant football, and by the time offseason activities kick off it will be roughly 18 months since he saw extended action even in a practice environment, not even counting the NFL level.

Dude got worst case scenario'd in terms of the team he got drafted to.

According to Rhule he didn't have control over the roster so that would imply Corral was someone else's choice.  If you believe him. In any case I do not think we are in any position to be dicarding young qb prospects just yet. Whether fans think he is worth it or not they need all they can get to sift through for a possible keeper.

I actually belive that Corral wasnt a rhule choice.  It was really a Mcadoo pick. Fits his scheme of getting the ball out quickly.

In my honest opinion, Mcadoo will be gone next season which will effectively limit Corrals potential of being our qb1

I would not worry to much about whose qb1 until the next head coach is hired and he has filled out the room.  I cannot get excited about the draft until the next coach is announced. And if there will be a new GM to hire said coach.

To me it's pointless to even think about which qb we should take until we know what kind of offense we intend to run. Or for that matter, who the OC is going to be.

But I get it, you Mel Kipper wannabes have to be heard. So I will try to stay out of it as much as I can.  But you make it hard to sometimes.

Hahha

Actually read what I said...

I'm basically stating Corral was more of a Mcadoo pick l due to his quick release and relatability to the type of offense Mcadoo wants to run. Research it. Maybe you'll gain insight for once.

I read it. I'm not sure what you are talking about because McAdoo will not be here so it doesn't matter how Corral got here. If he stays will be uo to the new coaching staff.  I'm not even discussing whether he has talent or not.  Maybe you should read my post.... for once.

F*ck you too.
