Why is everyone talking about A. Richardson all of a sudden? I never even heard of this kid until now.

Then you’ve missed all the weekly conversation about him in every college thread or qb thread as he’s been a big part of all those.

With Richardson you have to understand you're drafting a runner you hope can develop more as a passer.

He misses the easy stuff sometimes, but that's because he trusts himself to get the easy stuff if he's wrong deep. I haven't really gauged his deep accuracy but if it's there I'll probably end up liking him a lot. He's an electric runner, better than Fields, honestly Cam tier if I'm being real.

He's a player that if he hits, you gotta devote the rest of your assets into building around what he does well, not what you think he can be.

Here is one. 2:50 mark. He missed a td by what 8 yards?

It's hard to find all his throws because most videos only post highlights and not every attempt.

Based on this video only, he really does remind me of Cam.  Got that middle of the field ZIP to the ball. Cannon.  Powerful runner.  Just like Cam, would need to work on his "touch" and mechanics.  Very interesting!

Thanks for posting it.

Yea, I never liked the whole “don’t draft him because he’s an Ohio State guy”. There’s a lot to like about Stroud. Accuracy and touch are top notch. I will be watching him hard against Georgia. That defense as we both know, is nasty.

Being a QB at Ohio state doesn’t make you a bad QB. It just makes you an untested QB; a heavily supported QB.

You get to see how a guy performs in ideal scenarios, when the NFL is often not ideal.

That’s what makes these Bama/Ohio State QB’s such a gamble. It’s easy to hide weaknesses because the surrounding talent and line is such an advantage.

I don't know where you've been then.  He was one of the most hyped guys along with Tyler Van Dyke, Levis and Stroud going into the CFB season.

Both Richardson and Van Dyke deflated their stock to start the year.  Van Dyke never recovered.  Richardson had some nice moments but as a passer has been spotty to say the least; his physical traits are what are propping him up.

TBH, he is much closer to Taysom Hill than he is Cam coming into the league.

Sam Darnold is the only QB on the team to have the physical skills to win Superbowl (not counting Matty C on IR)

Too bad he doesn't have the most important part, mental skill, needed to win a Superbowl.

Sam Darnold is paid for.

And is contract runs out at the end of the season. Hopefully the Panthers aren't dumb enough to give him another.

Doesn't change the fact that most teams looking for QB doesn't look to the gator program.  Good QB's very rarely go there. If they do, it's because they can't break the lineup on better colleges programs.

That may have been true before the transfer portal and NIL money became a thing. Now guys are going to whichever school gives them a starting job and/or ponies up the most cash.

    • What?!?!?! Chark's 1,000 yard season was 4 years before he played for us and he only had 525 yards in 15 games as our #1 WR.  Dude has 3,100 yards in 7 seasons, he's the literal definition of a JAG and you think he is better than half our current WR room? T-Mac is literally already better than Chark was at his peak, which again, was years before he ever even put on a Panthers uniform, and there is a real argument to be made that XL and Coker were both better as rookies than Chark was for us in his one season here.
    • Im glad we're starting low. It's nonsensical to put us at 28 IMHO based on objective things IMHO (I think 21-24) is far more appropriate but whatever. Washington was at the bottom last year FWIW.  In 2003, Sports Illustrated said our best chance to win the division was to transfer to the ACC. In 2015, everyone wrote us off as a team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record in 2014 and lost our best WR in TC (Kelvin Benjamin). All these videos are fodder for conversation, but this prediction has no more validity than saying the Panthers are making the SB bc we're starting the season against the Jaguars again. If Bryce plays like he did down the stretch we will end up the season just fine. This roster is much better than it has been the last 2 seasons. No one knows who any season will ultimately end up, but this team is finally being built in the right way, and the idea that this roster can't compete this year is as insane as being it was when we were gaslit in 2023 that we were a rookie QB from winning the division with that roster.
