Happy for Baker?

Just goes to show how trash this coaching staff is. McVeigh took Baker and made him a game managing winning QB. Wilks couldn't even get one good game out of him. This is why we need a better Head coach and staff.

Jesus Christ you're a steaming pile of Negativity, did your mother never give you love? You're nothing but a negative nancy over a ball game you can't control, and over a team that doesn't even know you exist.

This is for all the geniuses in the sports media who don’t understand the relationship between the OL and QB.

As I previously said to all the Panthers fans Baker haters on this site: his lackluster performance was mostly the product of your relatively weak OL.  Your OL has not been rated over 22 for at least two years. By contrast, the Rams OL is 13. Baker has a quick release,  a very strong arm and can read defenses extremely well. But no NFL QB can perform well with a weak OL.

If Panthers fans want to be some day be competitive your front office will have to build its OL and DL.  Welcome to Football 101.

The Panthers OL is an absolute strength. In Week 12, the Panthers OL allowed 1 pressure, 0 sacks, and 0 QB hits.

This site has the Panthers OL ranked at 23.   You can’t judge OL performance based on one game. I don’t know why your OL is weak but it’s been in the bottom third for about 2 years now (injuries?).  It’s too bad your sports reporters don’t know how to talk about anything expect the high profile positions. Panthers OL needs to rise to the level of the team’s defense. Good luck to your team. Btw, I thought Baker’s Thursday night shout out to his Panthers team mates was a class act.

Here’s the thing…even if you are a ‘defensive’ guy at HC, you still need abilities on the other side of the ball. See McDermot.

Wilks clearly doesn’t have those abilities. That’s a bad situation when your team is desperate for a QB.

The guy isn’t even a great DC. Above average at best.

He’s a good leader, but he’s not an X’s and O’s guy who can get players playing above their individual abilities.

What Baker showed is that we don't need to be desperate for a QB. We need to be desperate for an offensive coordinator and weapons, period. Sam could be a competent starter in the NFL with a competent coaching staff. I don't know that he's had that in the NFL.

If he was with the Rams he would be lighting it up too.
