He knew how to build one hell of a 3-4 defense.

Capers was a good coach but when he was given personnel control, he screwed it up pretty badly.

I guess if we've learned any lessons in our team history at all, one of them should be not to give head coaches personnel control.

I'm not following the logic here then. If the Colts = Panthers and have been dumpster fires since we lost our respective pro bowl QBs, why would Reich do better here than with the Colts? It's actually almost scary how similar... above avg defense, all star RBs, revolving door at QB, losing seasons.

10-6 (AFC Championship Game)

7-9

11-5 (Playoffs)

9-8 (should have been a division title if Wentz didn’t forget how to play qb in week 18 against the Jags)

3-5-1 before he was fired for Jeff Saturday

The colts absolutely have not been a dumpster fire. It’s been portrayed as one just because of the revolving door at qb, but let’s not pretend for a second that the colts have been in the same class of teams as the panthers since 2018.

for reference, here’s the panthers record since 2018

7-9

5-11

5-11

5-12

5-9

I was just quoting the OP I didn’t go look up their schedule but I am like 99.999% sure the colts did not play in the AFC championship game in the year you referenced?

I don't want him as a head coach but I'd jump through hoops to get him as our DC.  I loved watching our defense when he was here.  He was great in Pittsburgh too.

He's a perfect fit for DC.  A DC that won't leave for a HC job.

He's 72.

I'm not sure he wants a full-time DC job anymore.

What Reich got out of a 39 year old Rivers, Wentz, and Brisset was really incredible. Better seasons by each of them (arguably Bridgewater was similar to Brisset tbf) than any Panthers QB since 2015...

Frank to me is the best insurance if Shane isnt in the plans.

Like others really like steve and hes local ties....wish theres a way he could stay as the DB coach.....hes at his best there.

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
