Right now there are some glaring holes on our Roster. You can rank them how you'd like but I think we are all in Agreement our Top 5-6 needs are as follows:

1- QB, a franchise leader for next 10 years
2- DE, pass rusher opposite Burns
3- TE, route running pass catcher
4- MLB, leader and organizer
5- WR, depending on how TMJ progresses
6- DT, gap filling run stopper

---------------------------------------------

Obviously, you would like to draft people in all those slots and have them on rookie contracts for the next few years - but some picks will be misses and some position just might not have the best player fall to us in the draft and we will need to look for FAs to fill the holes. What position would you be alright with bringing in someone with NFL experience?

Free Agent QBs: (Orange = Key players I like)
Lamar, Brady, Baker, Darnold, Jimmy G., Danny Dimes, Geno

Free Agent DEs:
Ngakoue, Ebukam, DeMarcus Walker, Dre'Mont Jones, Zack Allen

Free Agent TEs:
Evan Engram, Dalton Shultz, Hayden Hurst, Austin Hooper, Mike Gesicki

Free Agent MLBs:
Lavonte David, Tremaine Edmunds, Denzel Perryman, Kwon Alexander

Free Agent WRs:
Parris Campbell, JuJu Smith-Shuster, Allen Lazard, Jakobi Meyers, Darius Slayton

Free Agent DTs:
Da'Ron Payne, Sheldon Rankins, Greg Gaines, Javon Hargrave, Shy Tuttle

IF Payne hits free agency he’s as good as gone to the Bears. Position of need. He’s young. They have like 140m in cap space after cuts next year. Their biggest need on defense. They’ll likely go after Hargrave too.

IF we lose out, 6th is the highest we will be, and if a couple teams have surprise wins, maybe 4th.

If we win some meaningless games, then maybe 12th to 16th range.

I have extreme doubts about the QB's everyone is raving about

If around 4, pray for Jalen Carter

If 15th, then the TE from Notre Dame.

You have to get value with your picks to get better

It’s been three years since the Carolina Panthers had anything like consistent production at the tight end position. Something that has  become an area of significant need.

Ian Thomas is never going to be what the Panthers hoped from a pass-catching standpoint. His blocking remains good, but the modern-day NFL requires much more.

Whether the likes of Tommy Tremble and Stephen Sullivan can emerge as legitimate No. 1 options in is debatable.

I would like to see the Panthers  seek a potential upgrade as a matter of urgency in free agency or the draft.

There are a number of intriguing options emerging from the college ranks next spring. But the Panthers might also examine the veteran pool of free agents despite their lack of financial firepower right now.
