Special teams starter. They’re almost never starters on offense or defense.

Considering the dumpster fire the Washington organization is, Rivera is an incredible light of good for them

We all knew it was time to move on from Rivera and he just wasn't the guy to get us over the hump, but for those of you trying to act hard and trash this man personally, that says a lot more about you than anything.

No one should be saying anything negative about Ron Rivera the person. Take a look at how his players largely look at him and that should be all you need to know.

Ron Rivera is a high character person that his players, as well as most fans, have always admired and looked up to in that regard.

Rivera is a class act and great person. Coaching style aside I have nothing but respect for that man.

It was time for both him and the Panthers to move on but I have no dislike for Ron Rivera as a person.

I disliked him as a person once he started showing his true colors by throwing players under the bus, not backing his players, holding the team back, being a terrible coach, and finally that comment he made about never taking the blame any more after some player made a comment about not understanding the game plan or something like that.  
 

Sure he smiles for cameras and does things to look like a good guy in public and I’m sure he’s not an actual terrible person, but he’s no paragon of class like some people like to believe.  Classy people don’t throw their players under the bus and get petulant because a player said something that might have undermined him.  
 

But most of all he’s the reason two of the best players in franchise history were absolutely wasted. We should have had a ring or two with those two leaders on either side of the ball

I don't believe there are many here who would deny replacing Rivera with Rhule was a serious downgrade.

The first one out the door should have been Marty Hurney.

Tepper should have then hired a knowledgeable GM to set the Panthers up for success.

Marty Hurney was never that guy.
