I'm honestly not sure if it's even fair to classify Joe Brady as a failure. I mean, just look at our offense now post-Rhule. Safe to say in retrospect that Rhule was probably heavily meddling in Brady's offense.

Brady was about to start driving things, was learning, adapting, getting his feet wet, and Rhule came in with his "I know how we need to get this done" direction...

I said it back then but got killed for it. I know folks wanted to believe Brady was the issue but the offensive woes have been a part of the build everywhere Rhule has been.

He fired Brady at an odd time and cited a lack of runs each week as the reason and then from that point out for the rest of the year we dropped from 18th best offense to dead last AND WE RAN EVEN LESS.

Rhule sucked.

We obviously aren’t in a position to ever know now, but man Id kill to know what Brady could have been without Rhule. I honestly think he would have been a good to great OC without Rhules garbage

I remember Robbie Anderson (I know not the best source) yelling on the sidelines that the defense knew our routes before we ran them.  Brady was a co-coordinator in college, and offensive coordinator for us, and now is a qb coach on a team that doesn't really need a qb coach. He was Rhule's pick. It is possible that both Rhule AND Brady were the problem. Please hire a proven OC.

If they are a proven OC why would they want to become our OC and not a HC? If we keep Wilks then we are going to have to take a shot on the offensive side and it will likely determine Wilks chances of success of making it over .500 as a HC. This is why so many are just calling for an OC hire as HC, DCs are easy to come by compared to OCs. Hell this thread is all about the Eagles losing their OC and QB coach in one offseason.

We know Rhule was an issue, it's already been confirmed this year. We don't know what Brady is as an OC because that has never been seen without Rhule. I get what you are saying but I need to see Brady without Rhule before confirming he is a complete dud and it wasn't a huge part of Rhule that made him fail here.  There is just no confirmation until he gets another shot and by him going up to the Bills I am guessing it won't be long because that pantry will get raided on the offensive side sooner than latter too.

Pairing a questionable defensive minded head coach hire with a quarterbacks coach who has never called plays before sounds like a great idea. Joe Brady level great idea.

That's kinda what I was thinking.  It could work but on the surface it doesn't look like a good idea

And fug no to whoever suggested pep Hamilton

I know QB coach -> OC is the norm, but I'd really like a candidate to have a background with the O-line or as a running game coordinator. We'll probably need to coach up some young QB's for a while here, but we've got an elite run game right now and need to keep it that way. The next OC needs to be able to keep the running game as varied and effective as it is now.

Eagles QB coach had crossed my mind too awhile back so I looked him up. Oh wee mayne does he seriously lack experience in terms of getting an NFL OC job. Not sure we'd be apt to go that route after the Joe Brady experiment.

I don't have a problem making a leap that like if the people interviewing him have a clue how to assess football coaching ability.

So, is Wilks hiring him or is David Tepper?

    • And that makes you right.
    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
