I want him to return back good as new too, but we all know that all he's going to do is get hurt again. If ever there was a player that you can say "when, not if," it's D-Jac. That's unfortunate. And, to be honest, I'm beginning to wonder if Horn is going to follow in his footsteps. *Sigh*

Achilles is a rough one. Lots are just not the same. And yes we missed him. Pretty much knew we were going to have a very leaky vessel back there on defense. And we were going to need to get pressure to protect them.
Fail.
Hope DJ gets his full recovery and back to competing.

With Horn, when guy misses almost his entire first season it puts him behind t(e eight ball pretty bad for a while in terms of statistics like that.

A broken bone in the hand happens, it isn’t isnt major in itself. The question of is he injury prone vs black cat prone should stay open a little while longer.

Jackson reminds me of Captain Munnerlyn. That guy played his heart out every game even though he was physically limited. The coaches have to protect guys like that from themselves, as they'll play until they drop and get injured.  That kind of player rally's others and are essential, as long as you don't over pay them and manage them properly.   Like you said PANTHERS!

I wouldnt call DJax physically limited though lol. He literally has world class speed and is 5’10 which is about average for a corner. Munnerlyn was a midget

Unfortunately, there is a good amount of data between the two. 36 games missed by both of them over their past combined 6 years (4 Donte/2 Horn). It’s not a small sample in terms of NFL careers and that’s 6 games per year. In 2021 and 2022 they missed the stretch run at the end of both years. If a player isn’t available or is hobbled at the key times/playoffs, that’s a big problem.

Meanwhile Taylor Moton never misses a game.

Between Jackson's contract and a top ten pick for Horn we've got an awful lot of resources tied up in the secondary. When the guy we got from the Jags for a third round pick is the lone man standing to finish the season that says it all. Maybe it's just bad luck. Or... maybe it's a sign of things to come.

I think its a sign they will be drafting a DB at some point next draft.

If we take a corner earlier than the third round then oof. I want OL QB TE I'm tired of an offense that hangs their hat on scoring a measly 21 points.

All of that will depend on the next coach and GM. I can't even get excited about the draft until the coach is hired.  I'm not sure I would assume this team will remain as constructed with just a few draft picks thrown in next season. The coaching hire should clue you in on the direction they intend to go.
