Look at the situation from their side.

You can’t succeed without a QB.

Anyone who takes this job will live or die by the QB they pick this spring.

The chance for success is low and Tepper’s expectations are high.

I mean, what even is the percentage of coaches that last more than 5 years in one spot? This poo is fuging hard. Of course we aren’t in a great spot right now, that’s why we are hiring a coach in the first place. But acting like this is a uniquely bad situation I just don’t get. Yes we don’t have a QB but that is very normal with these openings. We’re in a bad division, with plenty of draft choices, and in a decent spot in regards to the cap.

Almost no new head coach walks in with an established QB. It's super rare. If they are looking for the unicorn situation, they will be looking a long time.

I know, but these young OC’s have time to wait for the right opportunity if they want. Most only get one shot.

Maybe they feel like waiting for the chargers job next year is a better idea.

On which topic?

I have the same question.

No Coach was hired as of yet so I don't understand what crow people are eating here.

I think its more of the totality then simply the qb position.  What is there to sale a new coach on here and do you trust fitt and tepper to help build the thing you want to.  Probably not after looking at the results so far

More than what you could sell for the colts, Texans or cardinals….

This is the right take. Great cap in 2024 to manipulate 2023 and one QB away from a home playoff game or two.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
