So which QB do we think will be available at #9?

Geno Smith needs to be paid and Jared Goff isn’t a good enough reason to pass up on a QB if there’s one you like.

Both of these teams are only picking this high due to La and Denver. This might be their best chance to land a QB without having to trade anything

I'd say both clubs are 50/50 on taking a QB.  Pete Carroll surely isn't betting on being this close to the top again.  The Lions are more likely to pass than the Seahawks.  Either way, the Texans and Colts are drafting a QB.  It's just a matter of who is left, Levis and/or Richardson.

Justin Fields hasn’t shown progress?

Final 8 games of 2022:

116 of 182 passing for 63.7% completion rate.
1194 passing, 779 rushing = 1973 yards

18 touchdowns and 5 INTs

Per game average:

63.7% Completions

246 Yard of Offense

2.25 touchdowns

.625 interceptions

Compare it to the first 7 or all of last year. And this is in a new offense with a new coach and Mooney being his only reliable weapon who is a glorified number 2.

Dude Fields just led his team to the 1st overall pick and you think he'd save this franchise? lol

You understand they have zero defense and zero WRs…right ?

I actually watch the bears.  Fields is all they have and in his second different head coach and offense in 2 years

the new coaching staff did what Wilks does because of it as what they can do is run and keep their defense off the field

All this with practically nothing around him. Well, they have a #2 wr, lol.

Fields is electric. He also is improving passing wise, or seemed to be by eye. But he's always on the run because that OL can't protect him. They really need OL help badly. Regardless of if they move on(bad idea imo but...) Any young QB will struggle passing behind that line.

There's a difference between how many teams need a qb and how many are going to want to draft 1. Last year was a good example that teams are getting wiser on not severely overdrafting qbs even if they need one. Especially this year when you've got a fair number of QBs going into free agent who have a tremendously higher floor than someone like Richardson who is going to be a hope and pray kind of prospect. Derek Carr, Garoppolo, Tom Brady, Geno Smith, Daniel Jones and then you've got your next tier of possible bridge starter/high end backup if you're not in love with the rookies at your draft slot, to include Minshew, Heineke, Darnold, Baker, Bridgewater, Mike White, Andy Dalton, take a project/aim for the 2024 class, similar to what us and Atlanta did last year.

My guess? Richardson will be there. Levis depends on the hype and combine, but has a chance to fall. But I doubt 4 qbs go in the top 8. And if they do, there's going to be a monster prospect at 9.

You guys really think Fitt is going to push all the chips to the middle of the table for one of these QBs?  Might as well start getting used to the idea of having Derek Carr or Daniel Jones now lmao

Why not? He tried with Watson.

Fitterer knows this is his last chance. If he doesn't find a quarterback this off-season, he's toast.

Career Stats Per Game - Fields / Trubisky

Total Yards: 210.2 / 203.5

TDs: 1.3 / 1.3

INTs: 0.8 / 0.7

Comp %: 59.7 / 64.2

Passer rating: 79.7 / 86.4

Win % in Games Started: 20% / 56%

Source: https://stathead.com/football/pcm_finder.cgi?player_id2=FielJu00&player_id1=TrubMi00&sum=0&request=1

One is apparently a franchise QB and the other, despite having equal or better stats, is considered backup level.
