I think not calling a time out, to save yourself from the delay penalty. On 3rd and 5, with around 6 min to go at midfield, was pretty dumb as well.

Let’s also not forget:

-the Rams game where he neutered the offense because he was scared of getting blown out.

-the Ravens game where he let Baker play the entire game because Sam wasn’t ready yet played excellent against Denver the next week.

-Couldn’t stop the run against Pittsburgh, and got picked apart by Mitch Trubisky.

-Was down 35 against cinci at halftime.

it’s not the coach’s job to impress the players

If the players wanted Steve wilks they shouldn’t have put up yet another losing season

the players had a chance to have their say and they blew it and now they have will have to impress the new coach or they’ll be looking elsewhere for employment

i have wanted an offensive minded coach since 2007 when i started wanting Fox gone.

i was kind of conflicted in regards to wilks because i really like him and i love that the players love him. but, like you said, they blew some games that would have helped secure wilks a full time job.

it sucks for wilks because i think he's a good coach, but he got dealt a crappy hand here and in AZ. the biggest thing working against him is that he's a defensive minded coach in a league trending towards the offense.

the players love him, but that wasn't enough to win crucial games. he just didn't pull the best out of them.

Exactly. I wouldn’t be opposed to Wilks if I knew he wouldn’t torture us with Al Holcombe like Rivera did with Eric Washington.

Like I said, don't give him a choice. New coordinators if you want the job.

The QB was not enough to win crucial games...and the 3rd string CB.

My guess is Steichen, Wilks, Reich get 2nd interviews.

I agree. Maybe they'll also bring in one of whoever they liked best between Dorsey/Kafka/Moore as well, but I think this is a Steichen or Wilks race with an outside shot at Reich.

I still don't get this asinine line of thinking. By his definition, only Wilks is "all in" on the Panthers because everyone else we've interviewed has interviewed elsewhere too?

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
