No it's because he has mediocre results as an HC.  We also just watched the Colts do the same thing at QB we have done except on steroids.

his mediocre would be "great" here. 3/4 winning seasons and the most points for in any panthers season outside of 2015...but don't let that stop you from banging that drum

One thing can be said about Reich, there would be no learning curve like their might be with SS.  Short term that is awesome, long term who knows

If we are just trying to get to the playoffs and then lose then you are right. Great hire.

A) Ive done (as I am sure everyone on here by now) zoom interviews/meetings.  They are very rarely fluid where everyone is comfortable.  I am sure there were like 4 people from the panthers on the screen asking questions.  Its incredibly tough to get into a rhythm if you are being grilled like that.

B) the dude was in the middle of prepping for a game in the playoffs.  Who the fug knows what was on his mind.

C) the interview was an hour long, what could he have possibly done in that time frame to completely write himself off?

Point being, if we dont bring him in the second we can and get an in person look and talk with him then we are fuging morons.

A) Since Covid they have been very fluid, lol.

B) He didnt even know his opponent yet when he interviewed with us... how was in middle of prepping? He interviewed with us the Saturday of the first round of the playoffs where the Giants beat the vikings - which was a Sunday.

C) They could have asked what do you feel we need to focus on heading into this next season, and what moves should we consider making? Then he could have replied with a bunch of general speak and say "we could trade for Trey Lance this offseason" and then automatically the intreview group were like "nope"

It's not like they are going into these interviews thinking lets go with the flow and see what happens. They are looking for keywords, agendas, strategies, and how they would fit into the culture.

One hour can tell you a lot about an individual.

getting to the playoffs would be quite an improvement over what we've done the last 5 years.

again, if we totally discount ss from being a candidate from one zoom interview then we deserve every shitty thing that comes our way

He was in my top three post-Johnson dropping out.

I think if he can round out a good staff it is a step in the right direction. Not 100% sure he is the guy to lead us to the promised land but I am willing to let it play out.

im 100% sure wilks isnt that guy so at least there would be some form of hopium I could get behind.

Why are we dismissing that he could have actually just came off as unprepared and didnt have a good plan? Is that not a possibility?

who do you want?

Probably a first time, young, sexy, HC.

Reich is like $300k

A first time HC is a mystery box anything between $1 - $1 million.

Some people like the gamble more, and that fine.

But pretending Reich is poo is absurd.
