When Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich stepped up to the podium after his team’s 27-17 win over the New England Patriots on Saturday, he demanded $20 from a reporter.

The reporter had bet $20 among media members that the Colts wouldn’t score on a Philly Special...the Colts ran the Philly Special for their opening touchdown in Week 15.

It's purely about that guy's choice to throw away his Panthers Fandom.

Yes I believe you stick with your team. I believe if you were born in NC and root for an NFL team other than the Panthers It's treasonous. Especially Washington. 

I'm not hugely salty about Frank coming in. I just think we will be in the same place we are now in 3 years and looking again.

It is what it is he's average. If he keeps keep pounding going that will be a positive.

I found this blurb from Bill Polian:

Before joining the Colts, Reich worked two years as the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, helping them win the Super Bowl in his second season under head coach Doug Pederson.

NFL analyst and former Panthers general manager Bill Polian, who brought Reich with him from Buffalo to Carolina in 1995 to help mentor first-round draft pick Kerry Collins and provide quarterback stability, called Reich “as fine of a person as you'll ever meet” and a head coach with “a great football mind.”

“I think he will fit in perfectly in Carolina,” Polian said. "This is where he wants to be. He literally knows the building and has been there as a player. He will bond with the players and put together a great staff. There is a still a lot of building to do with this team, but he will work great with (general manager) Scott Fitterer.”

Polian added that Reich is low key but detail-oriented.

“He's inspirational when he needs to be,” Polian said. “And he's very rationale and honest and straightforward with his players.”

I would not call his record average but okay. We just may be in the same place in 3 years sure, but his record says there's a good chance we won't be looking for another coach that soon.  It is what it is.

Darius Leonard, Jonathan Taylor, Deforest Buckner, not to mention the hundreds of posts mentioning luck, Rivers, brisset, and Matt Ryan. But K

Taylor is arguably the best RB in the NFL when healthy and I’m not the only one saying that. I left Quentin Nelson off the original list because you clearly don’t know ball, but the colts oline has been pretty publicly praised over Reichs tenure in Indy.

      We won't know the answer to this for a long time. Reality is, Caleb has been the consensus #1 in that draft for years. Bryce was a similar situation, but mostly the same. He was not the clear and obvious #1 that Caleb was, but most teams had Bryce at QB1. The Panthers were always going to be terrible Bryce's rookie year.  I don't think DJ Moore's presence would have changed anything about that offense, as our guards, center, and left tackle were getting demolished on nearly every snap. It's clear Caleb's dad was trying to do everything possible to ensure Caleb didn't end up in Chicago with Eberflus. It's hard to imagine that he wouldn't have done the same, but probably more publicly with our situation, considering Carolina is an easier target for the media than Chicago. We can all speculate, but it's impossible to tell who is going to have the better career on May 16, 2025. If either QB doesn't pan out, we have an easy answer. If both flame out, the bears clearly won the trade, but it wouldn't have really mattered anyway. We all know how we win the trade. Candidly, even if one of the other picks we gave up ends up being a hall of fame player, we don't know if the panthers would have taken that player anyway. All you can do is make the best decision you can in the moment with the information you have. I really like Bryce Young, and I'm glad he's a Carolina Panther.  The only way to win in the modern NFL is to have an absolute dude at QB. I personally am happy that our franchise recognizes this, as I remember times when they did not.
